Story
Sadie is some what new to foster care. She had her vetting and just a matter of her last shot and she'll be ready for her forever home. She came from a breeder, matted & dirty and bad skin. Don't know what her life was like but its gonna be much better. She is timid and shy, but is curious about her surroundings. She goes on the pee pad if its right in front of her, But has gone on the floor, but she's only been here a few days and all the things are new to her. She is a sweetie and no growling or nipping from her. Older children & not little toddlers for this one. She's too small and timid for that treatment. Waiting for her forever home. Sadie is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Nala! This 2 year old was surrendered from a home with too many dogs due to lack of spay/neuter, and already had a litter of puppies herself unfortunately:/. She’s spayed now so that’s all behind her and she’s ready to start a new life. Like most dogs from hoarding-type situations she’s very shy and nervous with new people and situations, never left the house or went to a vet before coming to us and takes time to feel comfortable. She’s a sweet playful girl once she bonds, loves other dogs and definitely needs another dog in the household to help her adjust and feel comfortable. She’s under 15lbs, tall and thin and some kind of poodle/terrier mix, lower shedding but not completely non-shedding. She’s been spayed, updated on shots and is ready for a home. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Nala in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Meet Olympus! This senior aspiring schnauzer is a pretty friendly well-mannered guy overall, with just a little bit of that grumpy old terrier attitude at times. He’s about 20lbs and 8-10 years old, we think maybe mixed with Cairn or Scottie with his stockier body and oversized ears and tail. He is crate-trained and has been good about housebreaking in foster and ok with most other respectful dogs as long as they don’t overwhelm him. Same with people, he has a somewhat independent streak and isn’t the type that likes to be picked up and cuddled right away or have anyone annoying him when eating. He’s still active for an older guy, likes his walks and is really only middle aged for a terror… er Terrier Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Olympus in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ.
