Story
Meet 10 year old Jingles, looking for his furever family. Jingles is a loving and gentle soul seeking a special home that can accommodate his needs as a diabetic pup. Diagnosed just last year, Jingles hadn’t been fed a proper diet and his weight became out of control. Now with no table food, prescription food, insulin injections twice daily he is doing phenomenal. His care is all about routine. He takes his daily injections like a champ and he’s down 15 lbs. since entering rescue. His insulin was at 16 units twice a day, but now on 8 units twice a day. Jingles loves to run and play with is foster brothers and sisters so a home with back yard is a must as well as another pup. He will walk on a leash, but does require some training as he does pull. He is completely house broken, and crate trained. Even though this sweet boy is crate trained he doesn’t requitd it and does love to sleep in the bedroom with you on a doggie bed at night. He is up to date on all vaccines, prevention, chipped, a dental, and neutered. If you think you are the perfect family for Jingles, please fill out an application. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? No, he will chase them all day Gets along with other pets? Gets along with dogs only. Suitable for kids? Yes If so – what age? 10 and up Leash trained? Yes Crate trained? Story
Meet Addee — Your New Snuggle CEO Meet Addee, a 10-year-old miniature schnauzer with the wisdom of a seasoned queen, the opinions of a girl boss, and the heart of a professional cuddler. Addee found herself in rescue after her beloved owner passed away, and despite such a big life change, she’s kept her big personality, her stunning brown eyes, and her signature schnauzer sass fully intact. And when we say sass, we mean it. Addee is looking for a home that appreciates a confident, opinionated schnauzer and is comfortable providing her with structure and boundaries. She does best with someone who can lovingly but consistently remind her that she is, in fact, not the CEO of the entire household. She’s also one smart cookie. Addee absolutely loves her stuffies – Lamb Chop is the reigning favorite – and she can identify different toys by name. Ask for a specific one and there’s a good chance this clever girl knows exactly what you mean. Once the day’s Neighborhood Watch business is handled, though? Addee is an elite-level snuggler. Need a 20-pound weighted blanket? She’s your girl. At bedtime, she wants to curl up close and settle in for the night with her person. If you love senior dogs with BIG personalities, appreciate a little schnauzer attitude, and want a loyal companion who will keep you entertained, active, and very well informed about everything happening in the neighborhood, Addee may be your girl. Addee is fostered by Jim and Kristy in Cincinnati. What makes Addee unforgettable: • Gets along with other dogs? Dog selective. There are some dogs she does well with and others she may try to boss around or bully. A meet-and-greet with any resident dogs will be important. • Gets along with cats? Unknown. She has not been tested with cats, but she LOVES chasing squirrels, bunnies, and other small furry creatures in the backyard, so a cat-free home may be the safest bet. • Suitable for kids? Yes — children ages 6 and up would be best. • Car rides? Let’s go! She rides in the car without an issue. • Health-wise? Up-to-date on everything and feeling fantastic. She also recently had a dental. • Snuggle champion? Absolutely. She’s basically a 20-pound weighted blanket with eyebrows. At night, she is one of the best snugglers around. • Toy lover? Very much so. Addee adores her stuffies, especially Lamb Chop, and can identify toys by their names. She’s clever, curious, and loves having her favorite things nearby. • Thunderstorms? Not a fan. Addee is afraid of storms and will appreciate a calm, comforting spot — and preferably her person – when the thunder starts rolling. • Energy level? A great mix of active and cozy. She loves going for walks and is a surprisingly fast-moving little lady, then she’s happy to settle in at home. • Leash trained? She loves walks, but polite little prancing is NOT her style. Addee is a strong puller and fast walker, so she needs a secure harness/leash setup and someone comfortable handling a determined schnauzer on the move. • Neighborhood Watch? Self-appointed and extremely committed. Addee BARKS. Someone walked by? Bark. Squirrel? Bark. Suspicious leaf movement? Probably bark. If you’re looking for a silent roommate, this is not your girl. • Crate trained? Yes. She eats her meals in her crate and does well with that routine. • House-trained? Yes. • Can she do stairs and furniture? Yes. She can handle steps and hop onto the furniture without a problem. • Spayed? Yes. • Fenced yard required? No, although she’d certainly enjoy having one for her very important squirrel surveillance duties. Addee’s ideal home: Someone who loves schnauzer personality, isn’t intimidated by a little bossiness, can provide clear and consistent boundaries, and wants a deeply affectionate companion at the end of the day. She’s funny. She’s feisty. She’s opinionated. She’s ridiculously snuggly. She’s incredibly smart. And she takes her stuffed-animal collection very seriously. They were found alone in an abandoned house, and we’d like them to stay together. Henry is approx. 7-8 years old, 12 lbs. schnauzer/terrier mix (maybe some Beagle?). He LOVES his person and constantly will follow you around the house. His favorite activities include snuggling, napping, and hanging outside. He is house trained, does OK on a leash, and rarely makes a noise. You may hear him whine a little bit if he doesn’t know where you are. While out of the house, he is either left out or in the office with the door closed. He is trusted and doesn’t use a crate. He can do stairs and jump off/on the bed and couch. Story
Rue is Ready for His Forever Home! Some dogs just need someone to believe in them... and that’s Rue. 5 yr old Rue came to Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati after being left behind when his owner moved away. The person he was left with didn’t feel he was their responsibility, so Rue spent much of his time alone in a backyard, missing out on the love, attention, and socialization every dog deserves. Since joining SRC, Rue has been learning that people can be kind, new places don’t have to be scary, and life can be good. He has made wonderful progress, but what he wants most is a family of his own. Rue is looking for a calm, low-energy home where he can take his time settling in. He’ll need a patient adopter who understands that trust isn’t built overnight, but once you earn it, you’ll have a loyal best friend by your side. He gets along fine with other dogs but doesn’t really pay much attention to them. His heart belongs to his person, so he’d be happy as an only dog or with another laid-back companion. One thing he absolutely loves is spending time outside, so a securely fenced yard is a must. Rue is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, has had a dental, and is current on heartworm and flea prevention. Could you be the one to show Rue what it truly means to be loved? After everything he’s been through, he deserves a family that will never leave him behind. Rue is being fostered in Cincinnati. Story
My name is Luke. I am a Schnauzer who is 7 years old and weighs 23 lbs. I found my way into Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati because my owners were not able to care for me due to their age and health concerns. I am in a foster home in Cincinnati and I have had five brothers and sisters which I get along great with but also could enjoy being an only dog. I get really excited to go on car trips but don’t have any separation anxiety if I stay home. I love my fenced yard to run and chase the squirrels in and hope to have one in my forever home. I don’t play with toys unless you play with me, for example, a toss toy. I am great on a leash, know steps and am healthy and current on all my vaccines as well as microchipped. Children make me very anxious so it is best that I don’t have any in my forever home. I love to sleep with my foster mom at night in bed and hope to do so with my new family. If you are looking for a new best friend for your family... check me out! Thank you for reading my story. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets? Story
$400 adoption fee is for both pups! Helen is approx. 9-10 years old, about 10 lbs. and a schnauzer mix (with the fluffiest tail and floppy ears). This lady is an angel. She is mostly blind and partially deaf but gets around well. This does not stop her so don’t let it stop you! Helen loves lounging in the sun, napping, and generally being the sweetest pup in the land. This gal is low maintenance and does not bark at all. She isn’t leashed train so a fenced in yard is required. She does need picked up to put on bed and couch. You just kind of pick her up, put her where you want her, and she’s good to go. She is house trained and like Henry is either left out or put in the office while her foster parents are out. Both dogs do well in the car, at the groomer, and at the vet. They do have sensitive tummies and take a probiotic but are healthy. Both Henry and Helen eat casually when they are hungry but do like treats. Both spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and on flea/heartworm preventative. They have been around children as young as 2, not tested with cats, and get along with other dogs. If you are looking for quiet, chill dogs that are full of love and sweetness then this is the pair for you! Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets?
