Story
HONEY1 year, spayed female, 24 lbSchnauzer mix LIKES: Being near her human and treats!! Chewy bones that last a while and belly rubs! Playing with smaller dogs or puppies. Sleeping right next to you and chasing toys or other dogs in the back yard. Going for walks with her big foster brother. DISLIKES: Water (sprayed by water) being left alone or in another room while the door is closed. Some large dogs make her nervous and territorial. BEING CHASED! (Especially by large dogs) PERSONALITY TRAITS: HONEY definitely lives up to her namesake! She is very sweet and also sticky! She stays stuck to you like glue. She can also have a little bossiness to her (thanks to her Schnauzer genes). Honey is curious and sneaky (keep your bathroom door closed) no roll of TP is safe!! She's a teen pup and will sneak a sock or slipper but doesn’t tear apart before you can catch her. POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Honey is fully house trained and will do her business out back in the yard or on leash during a walk. She does not alert to go but will use a doggy door of available. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: She will eventually settle down if kenneled while left at home up to 4 hours max (best with a fun hidden treat toy or chewy to keep her busy and interested in going inside crate. Honey prefers to hang out on top of her kennel where she can observe and judge from a safe distance. She often chooses that spot to show off whatever toy she is chewing on and doesn’t want to share with the other dogs. At night she prefers to be in bed with her human. EXTRAS/MISC.: Honey takes time to learn boundaries but is eager to please and wants to be loved. She is great on a leash rarely pulls. She is cautious with new dogs and tends to react when she can only hear them or sees them through a fence/gate and not able to smell them. She can be mouthy (not aggressive) but easily redirected. Honey is treat motivated and LOVES TO SPLOOT! As with all dogs, Honey would benefit from some training classes to improve her socialization with other dogs and to work on her commands and manners. To further inquire about HONEY, submit an application. Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how HONEY will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet. Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit. Good with dogs,
Story
Bacca is a 2.5 month old Cairn Terrier mix with the perfect blend of scruffy charm and playful energy. With a Blue Heeler dad and a 10 pound Cairn Terrier mix mom, he’s expected to stay on the smaller side but brings a big personality wherever he goes. Bacca and his sibling were found on the side of the road, but you’d never guess it from his happy, loving spirit. He’s curious, smart, and already showing that loyal Heeler side, while still being a cuddly little terrier who loves attention. Bacca enjoys playing, exploring, and then crashing in your lap when he’s worn out. He would do great in a home ready for a fun, affectionate puppy that will grow into a devoted companion. Bacca is being fostered in TX but can be transported after adoption. You can apply directly for Bacca by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-854 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
