Story
Kelsey was one of 30 dogs who came from an abandoned property. Her siblings were slowly being killed off by coyotes. We were able to help with 6 of the dogs and seceral other rescues helped save the rest. Kelsey is a very sweet girl who has just the right balance of playful and cuddly. She would be a wonderful addition to just about any family. Kelsey loves playing with other dogs so she would love to find a family that has a playful pup for her to romp around with. She is 8 months old and her adoption fee is $350. ##1995837##

Story
Granite's owner gave him up to us because they were moving and could not take him with them.  He is such a loveable, sweet pup!  He is a happy boy who was loved very much.  We are not sure why they did not take him with but they cried and cried letting him go.    He would make an amazing best friend for anyone. Granite is all personality and full of love. He loves to fetch ball or toy and will return it. He loves all dogs and people.  He can be left alone and has not got into things. He enjoys resting on a recliner or couch. He does well in car rides. He weighs about 35 lbs and is about 3 years old. ##1248188##

Story
Berry was surrendered to Dallas Animal Services is in a sorry state; she was matted, dirty, and oh so frightened.  Since being placed in a loving foster home, Berry has made such strides! Berry adores her foster mama, and is slowly learning to trust the males that live in and visit her foster home. Berry has some separation anxiety, but is doing better at being away from her human, with a small amount of inexpensive anxiety medication.  Berry is a total snuggle bug and just wants to be with (or on) her female human as much as possible. She has bonded with the other dogs in her foster home and seems to enjoy being part of a pack; as long as the members of the pack respect her space and don't try to play with her.  As Berry is a bit insecure, she could do very well with an older, bigger, confident and laid back dog who wants a companion, but not a playmate. But she would not do well with a dog that wants a playmate, is possessive of their human, or who ignores her social cues to be left alone. Berry would NOT do well at a dog park. She loves to take short walks on a leash and to chase squirrels in the backyard with her dog siblings.  Berry is the most loving and devoted dog once she knows she can trust you.  She needs a home where her favorite human is home more than not; she'd do great with a primary caretaker who is female and who works from home (she is happy to lay at your feet all day while you work) or is retired and who does not have children. Berry is a gorgeous girl, with long, long eyelashes and an adorable Schnauzer-Maltese face.  She is hypoallergenic and will need to be groomed and brushed to avoid getting matted.  I would not put her in an apartment, as can bark for a bit when her owner leaves (anxiety barking) and returns home (euphoric barking).  Berry needs an adopter who has experience with scared dogs and who is willing to allow her time to trust and settle in to her new home.  I promise you, she is worth it.   ##1984993##

Story
Meet Comet. He is a Schnoodle. He is 8 years old and weighs 25 lbs. His plight started when his owners moved from a house into an apartment and he was stressed, and he bit the older daughter when he ran under a bed, and she was trying to drag him from under it. It scared him. So, they took him to the vet to euthanize him and a nice lady with a cat rescue overheard what was going on. They had just weighed him to put him down! He needs a break and a good, loving home. We are hoping for someone that is home more than not. Someone that will be committed to him. He is not a huge fan of storms but does fine with extra attention. He is house trained.  He needs an experienced owner and someone who will work with the training he has received.  He just finished three weeks of training and we will share the trainer's info to make sure you can work together.    He needs an active owner who enjoys walking, lor light jogging.  He needs a seasoned dog owner and a strong leader.  Applications to foster or adopt Comet are at codysfriendsrescue.org ##1996053##
