Story
I got Bam Bam(white dog)and Buttercup(brown dog)at a puppy store back in 2017 both at 3 months old. They are three months apart and will be turning ten August and November. Buttercup has no known health issues and Bam Bam has allergies she needs shots for at the vet. They are both very sweet and I would like to give them both a loving home. I would like them to stay together if possible. Buttercup is very energetic and still acts like a puppy. Loves to lick everyone. Bam Bam loved to cuddle.(see buttercups profile)

Story
Clark is a sweet, loyal dog. He is a 7 year old shmorkie who we got at 2 weeks old. Clark gets along well with our 11 year old Shih Tzu, but dogs he is unfamiliar with, he will bark and be unfriendly. When we had our twins in 2021 Clark began being more anxious where he would hide under the bed/behind the couch and have uncharacteristic accidents in the house. We figured as the kids grew up Clark’s behavior would change, but he is still a very anxious and not his old self. We also moved from a 4 bedroom house with a big fenced in yard to a condominium with much less space. We love Clark and want him to have a happy life, so we’ve decided to rehome him. Clark would thrive in a situation with no kids as the only animal. He needs space, preferably a yard to run around and just lay in the sun.

Story
Hi! I'm Gus, a 3 year old, 12 pound, neutered Yorkie Poo pup who loves to play and cuddle. I don’t really understand the whole personal space concept. I want to be as close to you as possible. I'm also crate trained! I currently sleep in there at night. As soon as I see my nighttime treat, I run in, eat my snack, and off to sleep I go. I usually will sleep and stay quiet until you wake up in the morning. One of my favorite things is playing with a playmate, so it would be really nice if there was another little brother or sister for me to play with. If not, I’m pretty good with chasing down balls and playing with toys on my own. I'm quite vocal too, always ready to 'talk' about my day. And I love my Zoomies! I can run around with joy and play catch in my yard. So, a small dog secure fenced yard would be nice but not required. I’m happy to get out of the house and go on walks to do my business. I pull a little at the beginning, but my foster mom is working on that. And hold on tight if there is a bunny or birdie around, as I will do whatever I can to catch it. And I have to let you in on a little secret: I can be a bit snarky when it comes to my food, so it's best to let me eat in peace. I would say I’d be best in a house with kids over 16 as I can get a little nippy when playing. Slow introductions to new folks coming into the home are probably best as well, as I do like to protect my home. Why should you adopt me? Well, I'm full of love and fun, just waiting to share my zest for life with a family who loves a playful, cuddly companion like me! And don’t forget the cute factor. My cute little face is pretty hard to resist. I am up to date on all shots, neutered, microchipped, fecal checked, heartworm negative and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. My adoption fee is $450. If you believe Gus is for you, then go to our website heathersfosterdogs.org . Click on Adoption Application in the menu at the top of the page to find our electronic application which serves as the basis of a conversation. Submit it & you will be contacted. We will make arrangements to meet with prospective adopters only after a submitted application has been reviewed & a phone conversation has taken place. Please note that we are a foster based group located in the southern suburbs of Chicago. Our service area is the greater Chicago metropolitan area.

Story
Sheldon is a four and a half year old mix breed, possibly Yorkie and Dachshund. We started him on a weight management diet ( he's a bit pudgy at 20 lbs). In his heart, Sheldon is a sweet, loving little guy. Regretfully, something in his past, of which we know almost nothing, has made him distrustful and snappish. What we do know of his past, he was surrendered by his owner at three and a half years of age with raw feet and large spots of missing hair on his back from an untreated flea infestation. The fleas are long gone and the hair has grown back, gaining his trust has been another story. After several months in a foster home he has come to adore his foster mom. She is allowed to do just about anything, even baths! For nails he goes to a groomer and really doesn't put up a fuss. He is normally fine with his foster dad, but less trustful and has bit him, nothing horrible, more of a warning. Sheldon gets along OK with the resident dog. He would, however, would probably prefer being an only pet. We know it's a long shot but Sheldon needs a home of his very own. We feel he'd do well with an experienced dog owner, someone who is loving, compassionate and would allow as much time as necessary to gain his trust. Sheldon has been OK with adult visitors. He will bark at them until they sit down, then he'll approach for pets. We do not trust him around children. He's put in a room with a gate when kids visit. When no one is home he's happy in his crate with a special treat. He will bark to alert you if he hears something. Therefore an apartment or condo would not be a suitable living arrangement. Sheldon loves to go outside to chase the squirrels, sniff around for other critters and he likes you to stay out with him. He does not like the rain or the snow. He enjoys being brushed and then rolling around on the floor to mess it all up again. He lives to sit in your lap so you can gently rub his ears. If you think you might be interested in adopting Sheldon, please take the time to fill out an application. Sheldon is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped & current on heartworm & flea preventatives. Sheldon’s adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in adopting, then please go to heathersfosterdogs.org. Click on Adoption Application. Submit your completed application, which will serve as the basis for a conversation, & you will be contacted. Meetings are by appointment only with a reviewed adoption application. We are located in the south suburbs of Chicago and serve the Chicago metropolitan area. We do not ship dogs.
