Story
Tucker is a local owner surrender in Wisconsin. Tucker is a sweet and loyal little companion with a big heart and an adorable face that instantly wins people over. He loves being close to his humans, whether he’s prancing happily on walks, curling up for cuddles, or giving gentle little kisses while being held like a baby. Tucker thrives on affection and companionship and has done well in a crate when needed. While we do not have paperwork, the owner previously indicated Tucker is a Morkie. Tucker will turn 10 years old in July and is looking for a loving new home after his owner moved into a nursing home facility. He was previously an only dog, so he may need time and patience adjusting to sharing space with another pet, though he does have experience being boarded around other dogs. Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Story
🐾 Meet Gizmo 🐾 Meet Gizmo, one of our adorable little Morkie babies! Gizmo is a Morkie (Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix). His mama is a Yorkie -Maltese mix weighing approximately 8 pounds, and his daddy is a Yorkie weighing approximately 6 pounds. Both parents have adorable baby doll faces, and Gizmo appears to be taking right after them! At his recent weigh-in, Gizmo weighed only around 2 pounds. He is expected to remain very small and will likely grow into a tiny little lap dog that fits perfectly into your arms, and eventually directly into your heart. Gizmo is exactly what you'd imagine from these little fluff balls: a tiny hopper, puppy kisser, cuddlebug, and little shadow that wants to be near his people. He has an adorable baby doll face and those sweet little eyes that seem to stare directly into your soul. Tiny body, huge personality. Now for the important part, because cute comes with responsibility. Morkies are considered a higher-maintenance breed mix, and adopters should be prepared for the grooming and maintenance they require. These are not "take home and forget about it" dogs. Proper care includes: 🐾 Regular grooming appointments 🐾 Routine brushing to prevent matting 🐾 Keeping hair trimmed around the eyes 🐾 Routine ear care and cleaning 🐾 Maintaining sanitary areas and coat upkeep With proper care, these little dogs become incredibly loving companions that absolutely adore their people. 🏡 What We Are Looking For Because these puppies are expected to remain extremely tiny and delicate, we are looking for homes that best fit their long-term safety and needs. Ideal homes include: 🐾 Retired adopters or individuals who work from home / are home frequently 🐾 Calm, quieter households 🐾 Homes without very young children 🐾 Homes without large, high-energy dogs We may consider homes with larger dogs if they are calm, gentle senior dogs with appropriate introductions. 💙 Adoption Fee Information 💙 Our standard adoption fee is $485; however, for these puppies the adoption fee is $950. We believe in being transparent about why. Tails of the Forgotten Paws is not only an adoption rescue. We also operate a sanctuary program, senior care program, hospice program, and provide lifelong care for animals with medical and behavioral needs. Many of these animals require surgeries, medications, special diets, and ongoing veterinary care, not to mention their monthly preventatives, food etc. On rare occasions when we receive highly sought-after small-breed, designer, or purebred puppies, we use those opportunities to help support the animals who may never receive applications of their own. While similar puppies through breeders commonly reach $2,000 or more, these puppies are being adopted through rescue, and every dollar stays within the mission. Your adoption fee is not creating profit, it directly helps provide food, medical care, medications, surgeries, and support for sanctuary residents, seniors, and hospice/medical dogs. When you adopt one tiny puppy, you're helping many forgotten animals receive the care they deserve. One little puppy can help many others. 🐾 If interested in adopting Gizmo, please complete our adoption application. The application is always the first step.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gizmo and Nala are a bonded pair and have been together for eight years and will only be adopted together. Gizmo is a laugh a minute. He loves his small toys and is addicted to small balls. Carrying them with him, dropping them in one area, and retrieving more till he has a stock pile of his treasures at your feet. Gizzy is a proud little nugget with a constant tail wag. He adores attention and is always pushing his hiney into you, In and out of your legs, just like a kitten. When Nala is exhausted from human attention, Gizmo knows it’s his turn. He treats Nala like the princess she is. Meal time is simple. They must eat in separate areas because Nala is the ruler of the roost and will steal Gizmos meals, then excuse herself graciously to go and eat her own. The two of them spend their days together snuggling, exploring outside or playing with toys. Gizmo is neutered, UTD in all vaccinations including Bordatella. He is microchipped and takes a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Gizmo and Nala must go to a home with a securely fenced area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 11, 2025, 12:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nala and Gizmo are a bonded pair and have been together for 8 years, therefore they must be adopted together. Nala is a sweet little nugget with her big brown eyes and short legs. She loves all people and would do well in a home with respectful children twelve years or older. Her favorite spot would be on your lap receiving belly rubs. Nala and Gizmo protect each other, so being the only pups in the home would be ideal. When playtime is over, she will quietly walk away and find a cozy bed to rest. She is very laid back and doesn’t have a care in the world. Just looking at her will melt your heart. Nala will let you know when she is hungry, it’s the only time she barks. When she hears her meals being prepared, she barks until her meal is in front of her. Nala is up to date on all her vaccinations including Bordatella. She is microchipped and is taking a monthly flea/tick and Heart worm preventative. Nala and Gizmo must have a securely fenced area to relieve themselves. They both enjoy being outdoors. She is potty trained.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 11, 2025, 12:37 pm
