Hi! My name is Chelsea! The shelter is my current home, but I'm looking for something a little more permanent. I've grown up here and even though I am comfortable with my shelter family, I may be a little shy with new people. I need a proper introduction with people and new animals. After a few days to get used to my new surroundings, I'll blossom into the fun loving dog I am. I like to run and play with my siblings and I always like to greet you with a smile. One of the saddest realities of shelter life is when a puppy comes into a shelter, full of energy and curiosity, and before you know it, they have grown into a dog, with a personality that's still developing and a heart that's still yearning for love and attention. This is the harsh reality for Eddie, a young energetic dog who has been waiting for a forever home for far too long. This lovable goofball is a total lovebug and is not averse to giving you a big ol' hug, snuggling up next to you on the couch, and showering you with affection. He's a social butterfly who thrives on human interaction and would love to be part of an active family who can provide him with the exercise and mental stimulation he needs to thrive. This guy needs a home that is patient, understanding, and willing to put in the time to help him become the best version of himself. A home that likes taking long walks, playing fetch, and engaging in playtime activities that will subdue his exuberance for life and channel it into positive outlets. He's a work in progress, but with the right family, he has the potential to become a wonderful companion and loyal friend. His welcome includes happy bouncing and a little conversation, which is a pretty nice reception after a long day. Once you’re settled, he’s ready to settle, too. He has excellent “let’s hang out” energy. Rocco is fostered in a loving home with a wide variety of dogs and brings lovely manners to his friendships. He greets new dogs calmly on leash, has done well in a daycare setting, and comfortably shares attention with other pups. He’s also polite at treat time, waiting his turn while everyone gets a little something. A medium- to low-energy dog who enjoys some playtime and plenty of lounging could be a wonderful companion for him. And speaking of treats, Rocco would like to confirm that he is available for snacks. He takes them gently and happily shows off his sit, down, and shake. He’s smart, eager to participate, and very pleased when his efforts earn a reward. Teaching him something new could be a fun little part of your day together. He has the everyday outings covered, too. Rocco walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and can hop in on his own. Whether you’re heading to a park or taking a drive together, he’s happy to come along. He’s a lovely size for a companion dog, with plenty of presence beside you and a relaxed approach to spending time together. With new people, Rocco offers friendly greetings and lets the closer bond develop as he gets acquainted. Give him a little time to learn your routine and discover his favorite spot, and you’ll get to know the affectionate couch companion his foster family loves. He has been around young children and done well, so a family home could be a lovely fit. He could also enjoy apartment life, where permitted, with regular walks and time with his people. His future home does need to be cat-free. We estimate Rocco to be about three years old and a Black Mouth Cur mix , though his age and breed are our best guesses. His foster family’s enthusiasm comes from knowing him in all those everyday moments that matter- relaxing at home, spending time with the other dogs, hopping in the car, and welcoming his people back.
