Story
HazelnutFemaleD.O.B. 06/01/2026Expected Full Grown Weight: 30-35 lbs.  Breed: Mix Hi! I’m Hazelnut! I’m a sassy, sweet, and curious little girl with a playful personality and lots of love to give! I’m still a puppy, so I love exploring, playing, and occasionally getting into a little mischief. I’ve done wonderfully with every dog I’ve met and love playing with my foster sister. I’m also great with kids, including my foster family’s 6-year-old nephews. I haven't spent much time around cats, but I stayed with another foster family briefly and did well with their cat. I’m doing great with house training! I’ve only had one accident in my foster home, and I let my people know when I need to go outside. I’m also crate trained and actually enjoy my crate! I sleep through the night in it and have done great being left alone for up to six hours. Since I’m still a puppy, I should continue being crated when no one is home. I’m learning to walk nicely on a leash and respond well to gentle corrections. Now, let’s talk about my favorite things! I absolutely LOVE toys and make it my personal mission to empty the entire toy basket. My current favorites are my flying squirrel and giant octopus. I also love running around the yard, being chased, and enjoying treats like cheese crunchies, goat’s milk, and pumpkin cookies! I’m an affectionate girl who loves pets, giving kisses, offering my paws, and curling up next to my favorite people. I even have the cutest little smile where I show off my tiny teefies when my foster family comes home! I’m still settling in, so I prefer to approach people for cuddles rather than being picked up, but I’m becoming more comfortable every day. Despite my playful puppy energy, I have a pretty calm demeanor and rarely bark. My foster family thinks I could do well in many different homes, including an apartment or condo. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but it isn't necessarily required since I'm doing well with leash training. I'm looking for a family who will continue helping me learn, give me plenty of toys and playtime, and love me for the sweet, silly girl I am. Could I be your little Hazelnut? If you are interested in meeting Hazelnut apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2858425##

Story
Dog's Name: Betty Gender: Female Current Age: 6 years Current Age Range: Adult (1 year or older) Current Weight: 75 lbs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: Large mix Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendlly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. If dog selective, please share any details about the type of dog that your foster appears to be compatible with: Dogs who can engage in gentle or slow introductions, Betty likes to warm up to new friends! Cat Friendly: No Kids: Yes to kids 12 years old or older Apartment Friendly: No Fence Requirements: Physical fence required,  5 feet or higher Crate Trained: She was previously crate trained and will go into her crate if prompted, but she does best being able to roam the house freely! Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home / Adopter: Betty would love a family who loves playing tug and then can be ready for a cuddle right after. She follows routines easily, learns quickly, and shows lots of affection. She has medium energy but is totally fine to be left alone while you are at work. Betty has great house manners. Likes: Betty loves walks, car rides, playing tug, chewing on balls, zooming in the yard, snoozing on the couch, meeting new people, sniffing out of the window, and getting pets from her family. Dislikes: Betty does not like cats and can experience separation anxiety very briefly until she knows your routine. Betty does best with slow introductions to new dogs. Betty has a high prey drive. She needs someone who can help her get used to new situations as they arise. Betty loves to lean into you with her head to give hugs and show affection, she shows excitement by walking in circles and bringing you her favorite toys, she sleeps well through the night and is no stranger to sleeping in. Betty would be a wonderful only-dog but could potentially have another dog sibling. She enjoys standing guard at the window and will protect your home from bugs and your yard from squirrels. She is a big mushy lover who enjoys spending time with her people. Betty will continue to need support in becoming more confident on her leash and using her best manners during walks. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and the dog will be current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. ##1323289##

Story
Dog's Name: Noli Gender: Female Current Age: 8 months Current Weight: 30 lbs Breed: Mountain Cur Mix Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and requires another dog in the home. Cat Friendly: Selective Kids: Yes, to kids 12 years old or older Apartment Friendly: Yes Fence Requirements: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise. Crate Trained: Doing well without it. Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home / Adopter: Cannoli would thrive in a home where her people are willing to include her as much as possible with their activities, inlcuding outside of the house.  She would also thrive in a home with another playful dog who can help build her confidence and provide companionship. Consistency and commitment to training her will help solidify her manners. She loves sunbathing on a porch, chasing bugs in the yard, and rolling in the grass, so a fenced in yard would be ideal. Likes: Cuddling with her humans and/or canine sibling, playing with toys, giving kisses, getting belly and ear rubs, sunbathing/playing outside. Dislikes: Being alone, quick movements, loud noises. Cue Gilmore Girls theme song Wherever you lead, Cannoli will follow! This petite lady would love a family who will include her in all of the fun and in turn, you will be showered in kisses and cuddles. Cannoli would thrive in a home with another playful dog who can help build her confidence and provide her with companionship when her humans can't be around. She still has some puppy tendencies, but has been accident free in her foster home and responds well to being told "no" and "leave it". Cannoli seemed nervous around cats and young children in her temporary foster home, so older kids or no children may be best. Her perfect, silky tiger stripes and giant, expressive ears will catch your eye but her lovebug, goofball personality will steal your heart.  All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and the dog will be current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. ##2849245##

Story
Cash is looking for a special adopter. His ideal home is a low traffic household in a quiet neighborhood. We don’t know much about his past other than he was found wandering around Circleville when he was under a year old. He then came to Rico and was adopted. However, due to no fault of his or his adopters, he was returned because his adopters home wasn’t the right fit - it happens! Cash isn’t the dog who will run up to strangers for pets and kisses, he is going to bark and then he is going to bark some more and he’s going to be scared. He needs the right environment to thrive and we want to find that for him!Once he trusts you he is a GREAT dog.He walks well on a leash; 🦮he is completely house broken; 🏡he loves his crate; ☑️he isn’t destructive; 👟he knows how to sit, shake, beg and spin;💡Gets along with other dogs 🐶Likes to cuddle and be with his people 👩‍❤️‍👨Likes to sunbathe ☀️He can tell time - at 8pm on the dot he knows it’s time for a greenie! ⏰For the right adopter and the right home, Cash will be an excellent companion. He’s now 3 years old, around 40lbs, and is ready for his forever home! Best guess on breed is mountain cur. We think another dog in the home would be best for cash, but is not absolutely necessary.Apply to meet Cash, but know, he’ll probably bark 📣Adoption fee is $250
