Meet Sawyer! At approximately months old, Sawyer has already had quite a journey. This handsome boy showed up as a stray, frightened and alone. He was found cowering under a house, clearly terrified and completely lost. Despite every effort to find his family, no owner ever came forward, so now Sawyer is looking for the forever home he truly deserves. Our veterinarian believes Sawyer may be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, and at about 55 pounds already, he's going to be a big, athletic boy! Sawyer has spent the last several months learning that people can be trusted. He has blossomed in foster care and is proving to be a wonderful companion. He is crate trained, knows the commands "sit," "down," and "stay," and has excellent house manners. He always takes care of his potty business when he goes outside. One thing that's become clear is that Sawyer was likely an indoor family dog before he was lost. He enjoys playing outside, tossing his toys into the air and chasing after them, but he doesn't like being left outside by himself. The moment he thinks his person is going inside without him, he'll race to the door, eager to be with his family. He loves toys and loves to take them outside to play with them. Sawyer is incredibly smart and observant. He quickly learns routines and pays close attention to everything happening around him. At bedtime, he settles quietly in his crate without a peep. In the morning, he patiently waits until he hears everyone else getting up before he's ready to start his day. This sweet, goofy boy has a playful side that will keep you smiling. He loves chasing bugs (as long as they aren't chasing him! 😊), and the frogs in his foster home's yard haven't had a moment's peace since Sawyer Adoptions will take place at the North Fayette PetSmart in Robinson Township, PA. Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org Howdy, y’all. Name’s Scout. I’m a five-month-old pup with a soft white coat, tan-tipped ears, and a heart that’s already bigger than my paws. Folks say I’ll grow up to be about 40 pounds—just the right size for curling up on the couch and still being easy to scoop up when I get the zoomies. My story started on a property with a bunch of unfixed adult dogs. It wasn’t an easy beginning. Almost all of my littermates didn’t make it—they were lost to the heat and parasites. Somehow I held on. I’m the one who made it out. And now? I’m happy. Really happy. Healthy, full of energy, and so excited for what’s next. I’m the kind of dog who greets every day like it’s the best one yet. I love people, I love other dogs, and I especially love water. Puddles, sprinklers, baths, lakes… if it’s water, I’m in it. You’ll probably catch me standing in the middle of a rainstorm with a goofy grin on my face like I just won the lottery. I’m super sweet and easygoing. I get along with just about everybody I meet and I’m happiest when I’m part of the pack—whether that pack is two-legged, four-legged, or both. I don’t do drama; I do belly rubs, silly faces, and long naps after playtime. Life’s pretty simple for me right now: eat, play, splash, snuggle, repeat. I’m looking for a forever family who wants a happy, affectionate buddy to share the good times with. Someone who’ll give me the safe, loving home I was meant to have.
