We tested him with a very scared puppy and Diego completely understood that the other dog needed space. He left him alone and even sat nearby like he was trying to help. He’s not a wild, out of control puppy at all. He has energy, but he reads the room and adjusts so well. Diego is one of those puppies that feels almost perfect. I love him so much and really hope he gets to leave the shelter.” Diego is gentle, smart, and emotionally aware beyond his age. He deserves a future where he can keep learning, growing, and being the good boy he already is.

We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Dipsy, 1.5 years old, neutered male, black mouth cur and plot hound mix, 64lbs. Dipsy is in a foster home in Houston, Texas and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Dipsy is a tall, dark, handsome introvert with perfect natural eyeliner, soft soulful eyes, and fur so smooth you’ll want to pet him (please do—he loves a good brushing). He’s a mysterious-but-goofy boy who proudly digs through toy boxes like an archaeologist on a mission to select the perfect one and rolls in the grass like he’s checking into a luxury spa. Dipsy takes time to bond, but once he trusts you, he’ll wake you with gentle paw taps and his deep “Barry White” morning voice. He loves to play—sometimes a little too enthusiastically—so he appreciates help remembering to take cooldown breaks. He gets along great with dogs of all sizes, plays politely with cats when he’s bored, and does best with kids 10+ since he’s still working on toning down his excited “love pinches.” Dipsy is housebroken, crate trained, respectful around food and toys, fantastic in the car, but might steal a snack off the counter. He also loves sliding himself under your desk like a big furry foot warmer, “talks” when you come home like he’s giving you a full recap of his day, and once in a while stares dramatically into the distance as if he’s in an indie film. His ideal home has adults or older kids, ideally another dog friend, and people who enjoy walks, playtime, and letting an introvert unfold at his own pace. Hi I’m Floyd! Now that we met, can you love me? Like right now, pretty please?!? I really want to find my forever home and be there for Christmas! I promise to show you lots of appreciation and love in return if you share your heart and maybe your bed with me, and promise to pet me often!  My foster family says that I am the most appreciative and loyal of all the fosters they have ever had. I’m just so happy to be in a warm, safe, and soft place after almost a year at shelters and in boarding!    A little bit more about me…I’m about 3 and a half years old and am a Plott Hound. This means I love to smell all the smells and really enjoy being outside. Unlike most hounds though, I’m quiet - my foster family only heard me bark a few times and never howl! I’m pretty laid back and would love to chill with you on the couch on a rainy day!  I enjoy when people visit the house and do great with company. I’m a people pleaser! I also do well home alone when you need to leave for work or events without me.    My fosters say I’m smart - I’ve already learned to sit, stay and give a paw in a short amount of time! I love these treats they give me and am happy to do as you wish for one!    My foster mom says I have a history of being dog selective. I’m not sure what that means really, but she thinks I would do best in a home with no other male dogs. While I love the kiddos at my foster house, I would also do best in a house with no kids. I like when they come to visit, but they could overwhelm me if it was all the time.    If you want to cuddle, let me smell all the things outside, and PET ME, please submit an application! ##2243697##

Here's what my friends at the shelter had to say about me! "Roux is just a wittle baby and she’s been in the shelter for a whole month! We leashed her up and she immediately gave belly to the first person she met, and then proceeded to let us continue to rub her belly. Once we made it outside she decided she loved to sun bathe, we’d catch her taking little naps in the sun whenever we weren’t loving on her. She is more shy during her temp test but she kept going back to try to figure out how to play! I can’t wait to see her blossom outside the shelter. "

adoption donation : $599 weight 38lbs Age 6 months       Charlie is a sweet and friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. She was found abandoned at a truckstop in a rural part of Mississippi and luckily rescued by Wags. At the rescue, she is having a blast running and playing with all the dogs, she just loves other pups! In the house, she is mellow and chill and loves to follow her Foster Mom around.  Charlie has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to travel to the northeast as soon as the weekend of August 9th. Charlie is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as she adjusts to a new home. She has beautiful and appeared to be a Catahola Leopard dog, very common in Mississippi and known to be very smart and loving dogs. Charlie is just the best, she will  make a wonderful  member of the family.    Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes!
