Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $150 if picked up in TN, $225 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Hank is a one year old Mountain Cur mix with a wiggly little bobtail and a sweet, affectionate heart, and indoors this 50 pound boy is the definition of a loving companion. He has this adorable habit of curling his whole body into himself when he is feeling happy, and his whole back end wiggles with joy whenever he is excited, which is honestly one of the most charming things you will ever witness. Hank knows Sit and Shake, is fully housetrained, does well in a crate, and rides nicely in the car. He walks well on a leash with the right collar, loves playing with toys and other dogs, and is always up for a good game of fetch, a bone to chew on, or a belly rub. Inside, he is playful, affectionate, and deeply devoted to his people. Outside is a different story, and it is an important one for his future family to understand. Once Hank gets outdoors he becomes independent and adventurous, far more interested in chasing birds, squirrels, and scents than checking in with the humans nearby. He is also a determined explorer, so a secure yard or consistent leash walks are essential to keeping him safe. He gets along well with people and dogs, can be a bit rough with cats and is not recommended for homes with livestock he could chase or nip at. Hank would thrive with a patient family willing to learn his quirks and give him plenty of structured exercise, whether that means committed daily walks and runs in a home without a fence, or a country property with secure containment where he can explore safely. With the right understanding and consistency, this sweet and loyal boy will reward his family with all the love he has to give. To learn more about Hank, text AARF at 931-260-8018 or visit www.aarf-tn.com today!  Interested in adopting? THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. June 25, 2026, 5:11 pm

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Yes, dog savvy catsGood with kids: Unknown, likely yesCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: Yes Louie is the total package—loving, loyal, and just the right amount of goofy. He’s the kind of dog who will keep you smiling all day and then curl up as close as possible at night (because in his mind, he’s absolutely a lap dog). Louie is always up for some playtime or zoomies, but he’s just as happy settling down for snuggles once he’s gotten it out of his system. His favorite place, without question, is right beside (or on top of) his people. With his affectionate nature and playful spirit, Louie brings a wonderful balance of fun and companionship to any home.Louie is a social butterfly who truly believes everyone is his friend. He greets other dogs without issue and enjoys spending time playing with his canine buddies, making him a great fit for a home with another dog or regular playmates. He has lived with cats for six months and mostly ignores them, though he may occasionally try to initiate play—he responds well to redirection when needed. While he hasn’t been fostered with children, his friendly and easygoing personality suggests he would likely do well with dog-savvy kids who can match his playful but affectionate nature.Louie is crate trained and can comfortably spend a few hours a day in his crate. He is fully housebroken and will stand by the door—or give a little bark—to let you know when he needs to go out. He walks well on leash and enjoys a routine that includes playtime, relaxation, and, of course, plenty of cuddles. Louie thrives with structure but also loves his freedom to lounge on the furniture and be part of the family. If you’re searching for a dog who can keep up with some fun but also melt into you at the end of the day, Louie is your lad! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org. "Moondancer" An eclectic combination of breeds!!! Moondancer is a 4 year old, 39-pound bundle of joy with a striking black and brindle coat and the cutest little white paws that look like he’s wearing socks. He’s the perfect mix of playful explorer and devoted cuddle buddy. Up to date on all vaccines and prevention, neutered, microchipped, potty trained, heartworm negative. This sweet, high-energy boy loves to stay active and would be thrilled with a family who enjoys walks, adventures, and outdoor time. After he’s had a chance to explore, Moondancer’s favorite place is right next to his human — leaning in, snuggling close, and soaking up affection. He’s people-focused and thrives on companionship. Moondancer does well with other dogs and cats. He may be a little too rambunctious with smaller children. His friendly, loving nature makes him a wonderful candidate for both active individuals and families alike.
