Meet Dwight
Dwight is a sweet, gentle boy who is still learning that people can be safe.
He came to Noah’s Arc after being surrendered from a home with many other dogs, where he didn’t get much of the one-on-one attention that helps a dog build confidence. Because of that, Dwight can be timid and unsure when meeting new people or experiencing new things.
But you can see how badly he wants to trust.
He watches, he takes things in, and little by little, he starts to come closer. Dwight isn’t a dog who needs to be rushed — he needs someone patient enough to let him figure things out at his own pace.
He is very dog-friendly and often lets the other dogs take the spotlight. He has a quiet, gentle nature and would likely benefit from a calm, consistent home where he can finally experience what it feels like to have people of his own.
Our volunteers continue working with Dwight and giving him positive, reassuring experiences. We truly believe that with patience, consistency, and lots of love, there is a wonderful dog just waiting to blossom.

Dwight doesn’t need someone to change who he is. He just needs someone willing to give him the time and security to become the dog we know he can be.
Noah’s Arc Animal Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue serving East Tennessee since 1991. We are committed to rescuing homeless dogs and cats, providing the medical care they need, and helping them find loving, lifelong homes. Our pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick prevention, dewormed, and examined by a veterinarian. Dogs are heartworm tested and cats are FIV/FeLV tested when age appropriate.
