COURTESY LISTINGThis dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for ROO. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. Introducing Roo: Your Energetic and Affectionate Companion! Roo is a 2 1/2-year-old Mountain Cur weighing approximately 50lbs. This handsome pup is bursting with energy, always ready for an adventure. However, when he's seeking affection, he knows how to switch into a calm and loving mode. One of the most endearing qualities about Roo is his love for affection and his favorite pastime—running and doing zoomies in the yard! You'll find yourself charmed by his playful antics and infectious joy. Watching him fetch and play with toys is an absolute delight. Roo is a well-trained dog who knows commands such as sit, wait, place, and kennel. He recently completed a 30-day in-board training, demonstrating his eagerness to learn and please his human companions. If needed, his caregivers are more than willing to cover the cost of additional training to ensure a smooth transition into your home. When it comes to manners, Roo is house-trained and has excellent crate behavior. He understands the cue to kennel up and is comfortable spending time in his crate. You won't have to worry about any accidents or destructive behavior. Roo enjoys playing fetch, spending time with his favorite toys, and socializing with other dogs. His friendly nature makes him an ideal playmate for canine pals of all sizes. Although he hasn't been around cats, livestock, or many children, he may be tempted to give chase to small creatures out of playfulness. From a medical standpoint, Roo is in excellent health, with no known concerns. Roo has shown compatibility with dogs and adults; however, he may need some time to warm up to new people. Slow introductions and a gentle approach are key to helping him feel comfortable. He walks well on a leash and rides calmly in the car, making him a great companion for outings and adventures. This sweet and intelligent boy thrives in an understanding and loving home. He's eager to continue learning, and his caregivers believe he would benefit from activities like swimming, as he showed great interest and enthusiasm during his encounters with the pool. If you're seeking a loyal and fun-loving companion who will keep you active and entertained, Roo is the perfect match. Adopting Roo means gaining a friend for life who will shower you with love, energy, and affection. Ask us about Roo today!    Interested in adopting? Story
George was a rescue from Nashville Humane association, between 2-3 yrs. old. He is very loving, and has no aggression toward people or other animals. George has separation distress. I’m fortunate to work from home and spend most of my time at home. When I leave the house, however, I need to give him anxiety medication, and either keep him in the backyard or the master bedroom with the door closed. If left alone in the house, he will panic. In the past he’s jumped on and ruined the window blinds, attempting to get out of the house. He barks if left alone for longer periods of time. George needs a home where someone is able to devote constant attention to him. When someone is home, George sleeps most of the day. He does have a lot of energy though, and benefits from daily exercise at the dog park. George seems to have experienced physical abuse early in his life. He’s afraid of raised hands, belts, and may pee if he is nervous. He truly is a great dog though, and has lots of love to give

Story
Brantley is a 10 year old Mountain Cur mix. I adopted him in 2015 when he was 2 years old. I was told when I adopted him he was a lab mix, years later DNA confirmed he is not any kind of lab lol. Even at 10 years old, Brantley loves going on walks. He walks minimum two miles a day and would definitely still have the energy to walk more if time permitted. Since he was 7 years old he has struggled with anxiety. As he aged, he has become more anxious. He takes 60mg of fluoxetine per day and it helps him tremendously. Brantley has always been dog selective and struggles with resource guarding. Both of these behaviors have gotten worse as he's aged. Brantley needs a home where he is the only dog. He is super healthy and easily has 6 more years of life to live. He deserves to finish out his golden years with a family that can give him the calm environment he deserves.
