Story
ADOPTION FEE WAIVED‼️ Buddy has been returned through no fault of his own. The new owners said he is a resource guarder and does not want any other dogs around when he is eating. This is usually an easy issue to fix if you feed your dog in a separate location or in a crate and pick up any uneaten food. Buddy is a quiet, very cuddly boy. He literally just wants to lay around and burrow up next to you. He walks well on a leash and loves being petted without being demanding. Buddy is quiet, very well mannered and has a gentle personality. While he has done well with the other shelter dogs, supervision and proper introductions are always highly recommended. Buddy is around 3 years old, 47 lbs, heartworm negative, up to date on his shots, flea/tick preventative good for 1 month. He does have a little bit of skin irritation on his lower back and tail but we were able to confirm it is just from severe fleas that we have already taken care of. Buddy is READY for his forever home!! Let's help him out. He is neutered and fully vetted. Come meet this sweet little guy at Guntersville Animal Hospital, 1609 Henry St, Guntersville, Al. Story
Lila is a kind, timid dog who can act with some aggression when scared. She has never ben aggressive toward our two children, but would need to be in a home where she is the only dog as her aggression seems to come from resource guarding around our other dog. She is very sweet natured and is pretty low maintenance. She had pnuemonia in the shelter before we adopted her and her lungs are compromised, so she doesn't really enjoy walks as she has a harder time breathing. She would be a good companion dog for someone who is older and looking for some company. She is 9 years old.

Story
My grandmother was disabled with stage 4 heart failure with two dogs, this is Luna June. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed a few days ago and our search for a foster (possible forever home is in the cards, but open to other possibilities) is now dire. Luna was the first addition to my grandmothers home. She’s so energetic it’s so sweet. Loves butt rubs. She definitely needs space to run, but purely for the benefit of a ball being thrown. Luna was my grandmothers baby. She does that cute thing where if you’re on the ground petting her and stop, she gently puts her arms up on you in a hug type way to ask for more. Luna June has an adoptive brother (Axel) and I would love to keep them together.

My grandmother was disabled with stage 4 heart failure with two dogs, this is Axel. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed a few days ago and our search for a foster (possible forever home is in the cards, but open to other possibilities) is now dire. His adoptive sister Luna June (we would really love to keep them together if possible) was the first addition to my grandmother’s house, Axel is the second. Sweetest baby boy on the planet. He’ll put his head in your lap and do those cute puppy sighs until he falls asleep. I’ve tried to get him to play fetch, but he seems to get worn out just watching his sister play. Genuinely the most loving and chill dog I’ve ever met. He just wants love and he’ll be happy.

Story
Rocky joined our family in the summer of 2023.  He was adopted from A New Leash on Life in Huntsville. He has been a great dog and a good companion.  He has been referred to as our “3rd child” after coming to our home. He has been exceptionally well cared for.  My wife has spared no expense when it comes to his comfort - snuggling him on the couch and letting him sleep in the bed. Later in 2023 we had another child who is now 2 years old.  Unfortunately, we recently had a food aggression incident that resulted in the two year old being bit. While the bite didn’t cause significant injury it highlighted that perhaps Rocky isn’t the “right” dog for our current situation. He is not vicious, but he is not a good fit for families with small children who don’t understand how to interact with dogs.
