Tano is a wonderful, loyal, and highly intelligent dog with a heart as big as his frame — he is slightly larger than a Standard Poodle, with a gentle, watchful presence that makes you feel safe and calm the moment you meet him.
Tano's journey to the Rescue House is one of love and loss. His family was deported, and through no fault of his own, this devoted companion lost the only home he had ever known. But Tano's spirit remains bright, and he is ready to pour all that love into a new family who will cherish him.
Tano is the definition of a one-person dog — in the best possible way. He bonds deeply with his person and stays focused on them, following you everywhere, even to the bathroom, just to be near. He loves being petted and will rest contentedly on the floor beside you while you work. But his devotion does not mean he is shy or fearful. Tano greets new people with quiet confidence, saying hello to women and some men in public — he has a natural gift for reading people's vibes and deciding who feels trustworthy. He is never aggressive, just thoughtful.
One of Tano's most remarkable qualities is his training. He has been actively working as a service dog in training and excels at it. He walks beautifully on a leash beside you without pulling, settles calmly on the floor while you are seated or working, and demonstrates the patience, focus, and steadiness that make an outstanding service or emotional support dog. Whether you need a companion for anxiety support, mobility assistance, or simply a deeply loyal friend, Tano has the temperament for it.
Tano is also wonderfully adaptable to daily life. He rides well in the car and is a perfect gentleman at the office — he will settle in and not have a single accident all day. He does need a yard at home to go to the bathroom comfortably, though he can manage on a leash when truly necessary. He is house-trained, well-mannered, and eager to please.
