Story
Teddy, Australian Shepherd/Newfoundland mix, 2 yr., 57 lbs., Teddy is friendly, happy, energetic and ready for an active life. He needs someone willing to work with him. Teddy loves water and plays in his pool. We are working on leash training and sitting on command. He’s smart and anxious to learn. He loves other dogs and wants to play hard but is also respectful of them. He’s got long thick hair so he will need professional grooming several times a year. Teddy must have a home with another young dog about his size and someone home most of the time. No cats. Teddy was a stray and extremely thin. If you’re interested in Teddy please call Cindy 970-353-1385

Story
True to his wonderful breed of a Newfoundland mix, Superman (aka Moose) is an affectionate, smart, and calm dog believed to be 6-7 years old. He's hoping to find a stable and loving home, where he can relax and serve as the devoted big teddy bear that he is, having had a complicated journey with conflicting narratives... Superman first arrived at Big Bones in 2024, actually, having made the trip from Texas to Colorado to start a new life. He was a sweet boy and soon adopted into what seemed to be a good situation. As far as we know, everything was going well for him since that time. In February 2026, Big Bones was contacted by a dog shelter in Denver that scanned his microchip linking him to our rescue. Before being dropped at the shelter by his previous adopters, Superman was good with dogs and kids when he was rehomed previously. Lucky for him, he is back in a safe place, and is ready for a REAL forever home!! Please apply for this big sweet boy today! He is waiting in Berthoud, CO!💜🐾

Story
Dr. House is currently located at our Everyday Adoption Center in Westminster (10460 Town Center Dr, Westminster, CO, 80021) and can be visited from 10am-6pm Sat/Sun and 12pm-7pm Mon-Fri! Email our Everyday Adoption Center team at EAC@savinganimalstoday.org for more information Meet Dr. House! Unlike his television namesake, this Dr. House doesn't spend his days solving medical mysteries, he's too busy figuring out the mysteries of being a dog! This handsome Newfoundland mix is still learning the ropes and is looking for a family that will help teach him all about the world. Dr. House is an incredibly smart boy who is eager to learn and even more eager to please. He loves having a job to do and thrives when given opportunities to use both his brain and his energy. Speaking of energy, this boy has plenty of it! He'll do best with an active family that can keep up with his adventurous spirit and provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and fun. While he's still learning, Dr. House approaches life with enthusiasm and a sweet nature that makes him impossible not to root for. He has all the ingredients to become an amazing companion: intelligence, affection, willingness to learn, and a heart full of love. And let's not forget... he's absolutely gorgeous. With his striking looks and lovable personality, Dr. House is the kind of dog who leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets. If you're ready for a smart, active, affectionate companion and enjoy helping a young dog reach his full potential, Dr. House may be the perfect prescription. Whoever brings this special boy home will be lucky indeed.

Story
Avalanche, Great Pyrenees mix, 3 yrs., 80 lbs. Housebroken. Avalanche is going to take some time to get used to you and new surroundings. It took a week for him to get used to being leashed. He is headstrong and stubborn but is affectionate. Good with other dogs. He needs to be an indoor/outdoor dog not a livestock dog. We prefer a home with Pyrenees experience, someone home most of the time unless there’s another dog in the home. He was surrendered due to his owner becoming ill and he could no longer care for him.
