Story
Meet Moose (he doesn't respond to the name Superman at all). According to his DNA results, he is 35% St Bernard, 18% Labrador Retriever, 13% Siberian Husky and very small percentages of 11 other breeds. Moose is an affectionate, smart, and calm dog believed to be 6-7 years old. He's hoping to find a stable and loving home, where he can relax and serve as the devoted big teddy bear that he is, having had a complicated journey with conflicting narratives...He first arrived at Big Bones in 2024, actually, having made the trip from Texas to Colorado to start a new life. He was a sweet boy and soon adopted into what seemed to be a good situation. As far as we knew, everything was going well for him since that time. In February 2026, Big Bones was contacted by a dog shelter in Denver that scanned his microchip linking him to our rescue. We don't know what the circumstances were that led to his family needing to surrender him, but Moose is safe in a foster home, he is good with people and dogs, his foster Mom has a 22# Male dog and a 55# Female Black Lab and they all get along just fine. He sleeps in the doorway to the bedroom and watches over all of us. He is ready for a real forever home!! Please come meet this big sweet boy today! He is waiting for you in Berthoud, CO!💜🐾

Story
Appa is six years old. My family adopted him when he was 8 weeks old because we lived on a farm with animals. We moved off the farm and no longer had any farm animals. Over the past six years we've moved many times. I recently moved out and into an apartment. He has extreme separation anxiety as he is not used to being away from people. I have to put him into a kennel whenever I leave because he will pee on my bed or couch despite being housetrained. He obviously hates being kenneled and destroyed his wire kennel. He is a very sweet dog and my family is very upset but we're unable to keep him. I just want him to have the life he needs and deserves. He is very good with kids, my roommate has a 10 month old baby that he does great with. He does great with other dogs, cats, and has been around goats.

Story
Hi I'm Fred, Freddie, and sometimes even Frederick! My siblings George, Ginny, and I arrived in Colorado at 8 weeks old after being born in the shelter in New Mexico.  Even with this rough start to life, we immediately loved people and other dogs! We are almost 12 weeks old and soon to visit the vet for something called a neuter- whatever that means!  I am the most confident and active of the three of us! I love to stay busy with toys, other dogs, and being outside.  I'm starting some training with treats and learning new words like sit, outside, inside and food/hungry! Food is my favorite time of day and right now I am eating 3 times a day to keep my weight up with my energy as I grow.  I'd love to give you kisses and I'm learning to not turn them into nibbles.  They say I'll be best suited in a house with a fence, probably with someone who has shepherd breed experience, and older or no kids.  I plan on being very smart and need to be entertained with training and enrichment.    If you're interested in meeting Fred please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in him!) His adoption fee is $400 and he will be available as soon as he is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. ##2795504##

We are almost 12 weeks old and soon to visit the vet for something called a neuter- sounds fun right?  I am more of a follower than my siblings and like to cuddle when I'm tuckered out for the day. I love to stay busy with toys, other dogs, and being outside.  I'm starting some training with treats and learning new words like sit, outside, inside and food/hungry! Food time is my most excitable time of the day and right now I am eating 3 times a day to keep my weight up with my energy as I grow.  I hope to be the tallest and maybe biggest of the 3 of us! I'm working on learning that nibbles are not kisses, I just get so excited!  They say I'll be best suited in a house with a fence, probably with someone who has shepherd breed experience, and older or no kids.  I plan on being very smart and need to be entertained with training and enrichment.
