Story
Luna is a sweet silly 3.5 year old dog with a lot of energy. We adopted her from our Vet (Barkfield) that had been given a litter of puppies from a client. Luna would do best in a home with no other pets and only older children. She has a lot of personality, and requires someone with experience with her breed, Rottie/Great Pyrenees mix as she is also stubborn. She needs a loving family/owner that can provide an enclosed or invisible fence yard, able to walk and invest time into taking care of her.

Story
Freya is a sweet girl, but my husband and I both work full time as well as attend college, so her exercise needs are not being met. She has lived with our cat since they were both young, and has lived with dogs as well. She is spayed, and up to date on rabies but not everything else. No pests, she is house broken, and no major behavior issues. Just the occasional counter raid.

Story
Meet Pearl! Pearl and her siblings came to us from an overcrowded animal control facility after being found as strays with their mom. While mom couldn’t be captured, we were able to rescue her sweet babies. Today, all of these puppies are safe in loving foster homes, where they’re being spoiled and showered with affection. As Great Pyrenees mixes, these pups are expected to grow into large dogs (60–100+ lbs). They are known for being gentle, loyal, and devoted, but they thrive best in homes with space to roam, ideally with a fenced yard. They’ll need daily exercise, ongoing training, and socialization as they grow, along with a family committed to raising a large-breed puppy. Each of these puppies has so much love to give and is just waiting for the right home to call their own. The P Litter have an est. birth date 10/28/2025 and have all been spayed/neutered, microchipped and given all age appropriate vaccines and preventions. Pearl has an adoption fee of $660. Puppies require a lot of time and commitment. Please make sure your schedule can accommodate a puppy as they will be a member of your family for the next 10 to 15 years. If you want to know more about the P litter, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who just wants to be near you, Maddison might be your perfect match. This sweet, docile girl has a calm spirit and gentle expressive eyes that seem to say, “I just want to be loved.” Maddison can be a little anxious in new situations, but with a patient hand and a soft voice, she blossoms. Her favorite thing in the world is simply being by your side — whether that’s resting her head on your knee, nudging your hand for more love, or following you from room to room to make sure she doesn’t miss a moment of your company. Maddison would do best with a family that has a secured back yard, as she loves to bask in the sunshine but is always curious about what else is out there. She would thrive in a calm home where she can relax, feel secure, and be close to her person. She would do well with someone who can give her the reassurance and companionship she craves. If you’re ready for a loving, devoted friend who will remind you every day how special you are, Maddison is waiting to meet you. Maddison currently weighs about 56lbs., is approximately 5 years old (est. birth date 10/15/2020), and her adoption fee is $315. Maddison has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Maddison, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Dana is a sweet 10-week-old black mouth cur/anatolian shepherd mix looking for a forever family! She's a playful bundle of energy who loves other dogs and would thrive with a furry sibling to show her the ropes of indoor living. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
