Story
We have a transport leaving the end of March 2026 from where we are located in Southern California to NorCal, OR, and surrounding states as needed for our adopting families where we bring our dogs all the way to their homes 💗 For peace of mind we never ask for anything up front. The adoption fee along with your share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person ultimately finalizing the adoption then and there with you. We would love to add Penny to our trip for the right family 😊 Meet Penny 💗 Spunky. Bright. Overflowing with joy. Penny is what happens when sunshine comes in a 4.6-lb body and somehow still has room for more light. This little girl is pure spark. She is eager to love and be loved, and her tiny self can hardly contain all the joy she has to offer. The moment you meet her, you’ll understand that she doesn’t just enter a room, she lights it up. She looks just like a petite Papillon, with that bright, alert expression and dainty frame, but don’t let her size fool you. Her personality is BIG. She is confident, affectionate, playful, and endlessly excited about life. Road trips? Her favorite. Walks? She’s ready. Snuggles? Always yes. Penny loves giving kisses, loves playtime, loves to zoom around and then curl right up close to you. She is pad trained, crate trained, and happily sleeps in her crate but if you invite her into bed, she will gladly accept that royal promotion. Because she is so tiny, she is always accompanied outside for potty time. Leash training will be somewhat new to her, as she was often carried everywhere due to her size, but with her enthusiasm for the world, she is going to thrive learning. She does shed lightly (a bit more than her sister), but it is very manageable and minimal especially with regular grooming. She is wonderful at the groomer and absolutely loves her spa days. Penny is fantastic with other dogs and cats alike and truly loves everyone she meets. Her previous owner was leaving for service training out of state and wanted her girls to continue knowing deep, devoted love and that is exactly what we intend to find for her. She does not need to be adopted with her sister, though they pair beautifully if someone is looking for two. Penny is ready to be someone’s tiny, radiant princess. Adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/penny-1 This covers her spay, vaccines, microchip and registration, dental cleaning and baby tooth extractions (she had several retained baby teeth), full veterinary exam, grooming, and training while in our care. Birthday: 2/20/25

Story
What's not to love about Maxine? Maxine is estimated to be around 7 months old, and she is an adorable girl with the cutest personality. She can be bashful at times, but once she settles in, she is a playful and goofy puppy who loves to have fun. Maxine currently weighs about 10lbs and we think she will grow a little and be around 13lbs when fully grown. Maxine came to us from a local shelter. She and her two sisters were found as strays and were never claimed by a family. One of her sisters was adopted, and the other is safe with another rescue. It's now this sweet girl's turn to get her fresh start with her fur-ever family! Maxine came to us suffering from kennel cough, but she is now all better and ready to go! She has blossomed in foster care and has turned into a spunky and fun girl. She loves to race around the backyard and is slowly learning how to do normal dog things. She can still be unsure in new places and when meeting new people, but we know that with a little help from her family, she will grow up to be an amazing companion. Maxine is still learning all of her basic manners, so she will need a family dedicated to helping her learn. Maxine loves other dogs and has become BFFs with one of the younger dogs in her foster home. She would love another dog to play with in her new home, but she could also do well as an only dog with frequent opportunities to socialize with dog friends. We haven't seen Maxine around cats, but we think she may do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction and proper supervision. Maxine has been doing great living with kids and could be a wonderful addition to a family with respectful kids 7 years and older. Maxine is still working on her housetraining, so her new family will need to be patient with her and be consistent with her training to help her succeed. She hasn't spent too much time alone since her foster mom works from home, so she would do best with a family that can slowly acclimate her to being left alone. Maxine is such a darling girl, and she can't wait to be your new best friend! If she sounds like the pup you need in your life, submit an application today!   Maxine's adoption fee is $450.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. March 6, 2026, 2:06 am

Story
MEET REBEL- Rebel came to us after being in a house fire with his family who promptly surrendered him to the rescue. We don’t have much information about this tiny guy since the owners just didn’t respond to any of our texts once surrendered. He has been through a lot, he is a grumpy lil fella. He had gotten considerably better and lets us hold him. He loves his meal times but don’t interrupt him while he is eating or the gremlin comes out. He seems fine with other dogs, indifferent to cats and fairly independent. He will come to me after hanging out outside on an enclosed porch for a while. Rebel is a dog that will need a patient parent that can give him the time he needs to recover from his abandonment. We’re not sure of his age. We were told he was 4 years but we believe he’s a young senior. Rebel is looking for a forever home where he can enjoy his life without fear of abandonment. If you believe Rebel is your love match, please email us with a little information about yourselves and how Rebel would spend his days with you, to gooddogk9rescue@yahoo.com Thank you - Good Dog K9 Rescue Inc.
