Story

Grace was surrendered to a shelter with her housemate Rocky. Both were scheduled to be euthanized within the week due to fear/anxiety/stress within the shelter. Pulled by this rescue on their scheduled D-Day, Grace had pneumonia and obvious ongoing malnutrition. Once out of the shelter environment she began to open up to her foster Mom. Pneumonia was treated, she was able to get spayed, and now she is a zig zag wiggleworm of excitement! She is silly, fun, playful, happy, fetches, wrestles, and gives kisses! You have to earn her trust before she comes to you, but that is a fair ask! Currently working on potty training and getting more weight on her and leash training. Goal will be about 25#. She will excel in a home with a fenced yard, daily exercise (she has plenty of energy now!) and people who understand her wariness of anything/anyone. She is an absolute doll that will melt your heart. She takes treats from yiur hands like a sneaky raccoon… slowly and carefully, then runs off to eat them! Jasmine (born: 3/20/2012) is 22 pounds. DNA revealed that Jasmine, is 50.2% Papillion, 22.3% Pembroke Welsh Corgi, 19.7% Chihuahua and 7.8% Pekingese. A social worker advised the Society that there was a little dog in need. Her owner could not take care of her anymore, as she herself would be going into the hospital and not coming home. Because the woman was critically ill, she was not able to look after this little dog properly and Jasmine needed medical attention. We agreed to take the dog in. After an extensive medical workup, Jasmine was available for adoption Jasmine is selective with her friends, but if you approach with gentleness and patience, you might just pass her exclusive friendship test! Once you’re in, get ready for a lifetime of love and loyalty. She adores leisurely walks, being pampered, and basking in admiration. She may not be a fan of cats or kids, but for the right human(s), Jasmine will be a loving companion. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. All of Gherkin’s littermates have found their people, and now this sweet boy is the last pickle waiting for his forever family to come along. Could that family be YOU? Meet Gherkin, a 2-year-old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix weighing about 15 pounds, with a whole lot of love to give and a little more confidence to build. Gherkin is super sweet, does great with other dogs, and attaches himself to his people pretty quickly. Once he starts to feel safe with you, he wants to be close! But Gherkin’s previous life left him with some fears he’s still learning to work through. He can be especially fearful of men and needs patience, time, and understanding to learn that he’s safe and can trust the people around him. The good news? This little guy is making AMAZING progress! His incredible foster family has been helping him learn to walk on a leash, navigate the world around him, and simply enjoy being a dog. They’re even working on training, including learning to patiently wait for his food, as you can see in the video! Gherkin is doing so wonderfully in so many areas. He just needs someone willing to continue building his confidence, provide gentle guidance and consistent leadership, and show him that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. His ideal home? A patient, loving family with another friendly, social dog who can help show him the ropes! Having a confident canine companion to follow could make a world of difference for this little guy. I received Lola when she was 3 months old. Agreed with a friend to care for her until she could find a suitable home, as her landlord did not allow pets. This friend never bothered to rehome Lola. I've had her for almost 3 years. She is a beautiful and loving pet; I've grown very fond of her, but unfortunately, I am no longer able to care for her. It breaks my heart, but I know she would be happier with a loving, caring human who can give her the love she deserves. She loves hard, you will feel the aches (lol) She is up to date with her shots. I am not sure as to what breed she is, as she was originally a rescued pup.
