Story
MEET  BUZZ !!! This sweet, sensitive boy is the definition of a loyal companion once you earn his trust. He may take a little time to warm up, but with patience, kindness, and plenty of treats, he blossoms into an easygoing, affectionate couch buddy who just wants to be near his person. His fosters have spent time helping him feel safe after being rescued from the pound, where he was at risk of euthanasia due to fear, and the progress he’s made has been incredible. He loves the simple things in life: relaxing on the couch watching TV with you, exploring the world at his own pace, going on walks or park outings, and then zooming around the backyard doing his signature “turbos.” He’s extremely observant and curious; always wanting to see what everyone is doing; but he’s also calm and respectful in the home. He’s not destructive and can comfortably be left alone without getting into things. This boy would thrive in a quiet, low-key home without children, ideally with parents who are retired or elderly who want a devoted best friend by their side. He prefers his people all to himself and enjoys one-on-one companionship most. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal dog who will slowly but deeply bond with you, he may be your perfect match. Story
PWRESCUE.ORG *PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY* Meet Jilly — A Sweet, Shy Little Terrier With a Big Heart! Jilly is a 1½-year-old, 22-pound terrier mix (likely Parson Russell Terrier/Wire-Haired Fox Terrier) who came to our rescue when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She’s a gentle, sweet girl with a soft spirit and a quiet, cautious way of taking in the world. Jilly is shy and sensitive, and she needs time, patience, and consistency to feel safe. New people and environments can be overwhelming for her, so building trust will be a gradual process—not something that happens overnight. But for someone willing to go at her pace, the reward is truly special. As she begins to feel secure, her affectionate and tender personality starts to shine through. Jilly is not a “turn-key” dog—she’s what we lovingly call a “project” pup. She will need an adopter who understands that her confidence will grow slowly with gentle encouragement and positive experiences. Right now, when she feels unsure, she may “pancake” (freeze) or try to retreat, so she’ll need patient guidance to help her navigate new situations. One thing that really helps Jilly blossom is the presence of another dog. She takes comfort in canine companionship and will require a home with a calm, confident dog who can help guide her and show her that the world isn’t so scary. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, especially those with a gentle, easygoing play style. A secure, fenced yard is also important so she can explore and decompress safely. And despite her shy nature, Jilly has an adorable, playful side—she’s a little collector! Shoes and small “treasures” may mysteriously disappear, only to be found tucked into her bed. It’s a sweet glimpse of the curious puppy she’s becoming. Jilly would thrive in a calm, patient home that values kindness, routine, and understanding. With time and love, she will continue to gain confidence and grow into a devoted, loving companion. If you have a gentle heart and the patience to help a shy dog feel safe, Jilly may be the perfect match for you. Jilly is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.    If you are interested in this sweetheart, please visit our website at:  https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adoption Application" button to complete an application.  Pathways Home Animal Rescue July 14, 2026, 4:22 pm

Meet Ginger! Adoption fee $250 Ginger was on the euthanasia list for being fearful. She likes to bark when she isn't sure of the situation. She warms up once you give her a minute. Ginger LOVES to go for walks. She gets the zoomies and is so fast! She was afraid of being brushed but is getting better with it. Ginger needs to be pushed out of her comfort zone. Once she tries something she realizes it isn't that bad. She loves a good snuggle too! Ginger is spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and 4DX (tick/heartworm test) negative. Ginger is approximately 2-3 years old and weighs 16 pounds. To meet Ginger, please fill out the application https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAWP/Do
