Story
Meet Mater, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi with a knack for the cozy and curious! This little zoomer might just sprint into your heart with his playful bursts of energy, only to crash into a snuggly snooze soon after. Not your typical foodie, Mater perks up for treats, making training as fun as a game of fetch. Though he may be a bit shy at first, give him a moment, and he'll lean in for some love, especially if it involves belly rubs. Mater enjoys his me-time and might just tuck himself away for a bit of independence, but he's always ready for adventure at a moment's notice, exploring with caution and curiosity. If you're looking for a loyal friend who stands perfectly poised and aims to please, Mater's your boy! From couch-back lounging to shadow-chasing in the dark, Mater brings joy and jolly to every corner he explores. Will you be the lucky one to guide this sweet soul on his journey to being the best dog he can be? Fetch your chance and let Mater trot into your life! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MIA Background: Mia was rescued by a friend in California after her previous owner abandoned her and her sister at a groomer. She is a 3-year-old Corgi-Dachshund female. Mia is a smart, protective, loving, and independent dog. It may take her a few days to trust new people, but treats can help with that. Once she gets comfortable around someone, she loves belly rubs, playing with her toys, chewing on her split Elk antler, and running around the yard. She has a great personality and is incredibly loyal to her favorite human. She doesn't need constant attention and is happy to sit and chew her antler while her person works. However, when it's time for some love, she'll drop the antler and enjoy some quality time with her human. Mia is a "Dorgi," which is a mix of Corgi and Dachshund, and she needs a home without cats or other dogs. She is very protective of her home and will make a great watchdog. She would be a perfect fit for a single woman who wants a loyal dog that will bond strongly with her.  What Mia Needs: Mia needs a home without children or small animals, as she prefers to be the only pet. She loves attention and needs someone who can give her lots of love and care. She also needs a fenced yard for potty breaks and walks. It's important to keep her on a healthy, canine-specific diet to ensure she remains healthy for her entire life. We will provide in-depth education on how to care for her. Most importantly, Mia needs a loving person who is committed to keeping her forever and will never abandon her again. How Can You Meet Mia? Please use this link to apply. One of our volunteers will review the application and get in touch with you to answer your questions and see if you are a match for Mia. Mia has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for her and her new buddies. To apply to adopt Mia she has a $550.00 adoption fee.  All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link.  Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.      https ://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 7:31 pm
