Story
Hi, I’m Alvin! I’m a charming, fluffy gentleman who made the journey to Smittens from the San Diego Humane Society, all in hopes of finding my forever home. I’m tall, lanky, and full of personality - ready to win your heart! I absolutely adore head, neck, and chin scratches, knuckle rubs, and gentle pets - but I’m just not a fan of having my back, behind, or belly touched until I completely trust you. When I’m playing, I like to get a little feisty - my paws and mouth can sometimes join the fun, so be prepared for some playful swats! It might take me a little time to adjust to new surroundings, but once I’m comfortable, I’ll want to be by your side and will even make myself at home on your lap. I do have one little quirk: if you leave me alone in a room, I’ll let you know just how much I’d prefer your company - I can be quite vocal! I’m not the biggest fan of dogs - I tend to growl when they come by the store window. I’d likely do best in a dog-free home, unless any canine companions are introduced very slowly and carefully. If you’re looking for a cuddly, talkative companion who’ll steal your heart, I just might be the perfect match for you!

Story
Meet Circe! Circe’s journey hasn’t been an easy one, but this beautiful 12-year-old tuxedo cat is proving every day that with love and patience, healing is possible. Rescued by Smittens with the help of the Feral Cat Coalition, Circe was one of 12 cats rescued from a dire situation. When their previous owner abandoned them, the cats were left in the care of an estate sale company, and the conditions they endured were appalling - some confined to filthy cages for years, completely neglected and unsocialized. When Circe arrived, she was in rough shape. Her matted fur required gentle grooming and lots of care to bring her back to her best self, and she also needed dental work. Despite the hardships, Circe’s spirit is strong, and she’s making incredible progress every day. Named after the Greek goddess of transformation, Circe is slowly learning to trust people again and is finding comfort in human companionship. Circe is turning into a social butterfly, now loving human interaction and making feline friends once given a proper introduction. As Circe gains confidence, her true personality is shining through. Once she feels comfortable with you, she’ll shower you with love, affection, and plenty of cuddles. She’s truly a sweet and loving cat. She even enjoys being brushed - and if you’re lucky, she’ll thank you with some hearty purrs! Circe is ready for a home where she can settle in, continue her journey of trust, and enjoy the consistency and care she’s been longing for. She’s a mature beauty with a lot of love to give, and with the right family, she’ll thrive. If you’re looking for a special companion who deserves a fresh start, Circe may be the perfect match for you.

Story
Hi, I’m Uno - a striking tuxedo boy with luxurious long fur! Life started a bit rough for me on the streets of San Diego, but a kind-hearted woman rescued me, and now I’m safe and settling in with the amazing folks at Smittens. I’m still learning how to enjoy the cozy indoor life, so I’ll need a little patience as I adjust and build trust in my new surroundings. Once I feel safe, I know I’ll blossom into a loyal, loving companion. I’m a foodie at heart - while I’ll nibble on dry food, wet food is my absolute favorite (seriously, it’s the best!). I’m looking for a calm, patient home that understands and will give me the time I need to come out of my shell. In return, I promise to fill your home with quiet love and fluffy charm!
