Persian kittens & cats in Frederick, Maryland

Handsome was rescued when he was 3 months old. Sadly this breeder and her sister of exotic cats down in Florida both became extremely ill with fatal diseases. One sister died and the other became disabled. The many animals they had were breeding among horrific conditions. I was notified by a person and drove 2 hours to check out what the situation was. Over the course of several days traveling there to bathe and flea treat all dogs and cats, the final tally we took in was 23 cats and dogs. They all were in terrible condition with internal and external parasites. They have been fed the highest quality food since that time. All cats have received two sets of PureVax cat vaccines, a rabies vaccine, dewormings, have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and tested for FIV/Feluc and heartworm( all were negative). He was transported up from Florida (by diesel) at the end of April. He is continuing to be fostered in Thurmont, Md. with the owner of the rescue who is a vet tech. He’s a gorgeous blue eyed beauty with a loving personality and will bring many years of happiness to his owner. He lives with other dogs and cats since he was born. Handsome is a beautiful non standard Minuet with the typical rounded doll face. Yes, it is a rare exotic breed. While recognized by the show world, because they are a rare breed of a Munchkin and a Persian they have no breed listing in rescue yet. His gorgeous coat can only be described as “plush”. One could spend forever petting that incredible coat. Due to the nature of the coat, while medium length,he doesn’t appear to shed and he doesn’t require the daily grooming of a Persian.

Meemo is a white blue eyed flat face Persian. She enjoys just hanging out with her person. Her coat is thick and needs daily combing and face cleaning like all flat face Persians. She is sweet, calm and chill. She was rescued in late February with many other exotic cats. Ferdinand (Ferdi) is a sweet, purebred cream-point Himalayan, about 10 lbs and nearly 9 years old. Due to an international move, his family made the hard decision to find him a new home. Ferdi is incredibly affectionate - he purrs constantly and loves curling up in laps. He's also deaf, but it's never affected his trusting, loving nature. Like many flat-faced Persians, Ferdi has chronic nasal congestion and recurring respiratory infections (frequent sneezing, nasal discharge). His family has worked closely with vets on treatment over the years; his vet recently recommended dental work that may help with symptoms. Given the stress an international move would put on him, especially with his health needs, his family believes a stable home is best for him. Ferdi deserves a loving home where he can keep getting the attention he thrives on.

Zosar is a gorgeous pure white Persian boy we are thrilled to have with us. We are not sure of his age, but he is around 3 years old. He was abandoned like trash on the street. But he is safe now. Zosar is so friendly and sweet. He loves human attention and gets along with other feline friends.. He enjoys brushing and plays well with toys. We would like to see Zosar adopted into a home experienced with caring for Persians and/or long haired cats. His fur needs to be maintained. Fostered in Fairfax, VA.

Manny is a stunning medium to long hair male cat rescued off the mean streets. He is safe now. Manny has the most fluffy ruff that surrounds his face. Could be some Maine coon in him. Part Persian. Not sure. Manny has never met a human or cat he does not like. He craves attention. Can be a bit needy at first. Boy, can he play. He needs a large space with a lot of activity. He was in a small apartment for a month and the family realized he has to be able to run around and explore. Extremely active. Manny needs stimulation so another active cat is paramount. He will do great with kids and probably a dog. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Meet Spotty! This gorgeous and easygoing fluffball absolutely loves her people! She will seek you out and rub against you, purring loudly. If you let her, she’ll curl up and sleep on you, no matter where you are or what position you’re in. As a longhaired kitty, Spotty needs some grooming – not to worry! She loves to be brushed. In fact, she would be happy to groom you while you brush her. :-) Her favorite toys are crinkly toys and fishing pole toys as well as anything with catnip. This cuddler loves people of all ages (including kids as young as 5) and is comfortable around other cats. She also has experience with a dog – she is very tolerant but would prefer a home with no dogs or with a dog who tends to ignore kitties. Though she is currently an indoor/outdoor cat, Spotty loves to be inside; her family believes that she would be happy as an indoor-only cat. Spotty’s only “issue” is what appears to be chronic rhinitis. She often has a runny nose and sneezes. She appears to be comfortable, though occasional secondary bacterial infections may need to be treated. As a testament to her sweetness, Spotty's vet recently noted, during an exam, that they had difficulty evaluating her lungs due to her purring. :-) Spotty is 8 years old and weighs about 11 lbs. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. The chronic rhinitis is her only known health issue. She has perfect litter box habits. This sweetie is looking for a new home because her family is unable to take her with them when they move across country. We (FFOCAS) are helping Spotty’s family safely rehome her. Interested? I’m a sweet and affectionate cat who loves cuddles and being close to the people I love. If you sit down to watch a movie or TV show, there’s a good chance I’ll be right there in your lap keeping you company. I’ll even follow you around the house because I always like to know what’s going on! I’m playful, curious, and love attention. I’m looking for a home where I can be the only pet so I can get all the love and affection I deserve. I would do best with older kids or adults who can appreciate my fun personality and give me plenty of snuggles.
