Story
Lizzie is a 6 year old female Persian who came to rescue with a eye ulcer which was most likely caused by dry eye. She has been cleared by the eye specialist and the eye ulcer has healed. She may need eye meds for the dry eye for remainder her life. She is very cooperative for her eye meds. Lizzie also had some matting - we had her professionally groomed. Lizzie is not a fan of being brushed. Lizzie was an outdoor kitty before ending up at the shelter and has done well with litterbox training. Lizzie does prefer to be an only pet. She is being fostered in New Kent. If interested please fill out an adoption application on our website- critters4urescueinc.org ##2650317##

Story
Meet Irene 🐾💖 Under 1 year | Female | Spayed | Long-Haired Dilute Calico Irene is a stunning long-haired dilute calico with a soft, dreamy coat and a gentle spirit to match. While she may be quiet at first, this beautiful girl is slowly learning that indoor life — and kind humans — are pretty wonderful. ✨ Her Story Irene showed up unexpectedly in one of our foster’s yards. There is a known colony nearby, but she hadn’t been seen before. Our team was able to safely trap her and bring her indoors — and Irene quickly decided outdoor life was no longer for her. While she’s still figuring out that humans are safe, she has already begun letting her guard down. Beneath her shy exterior is a very sweet girl who just needs time, patience, and a gentle home to fully blossom. 🤍 Personality Irene is: • Chill • Gentle • Independent • Introverted • Quiet • A little lazy (in the cutest way) • Resilient • Shy but sweet She enjoys pets and affection on her terms and will thrive with someone who understands that trust is built slowly. 🛏 Favorite Things Sleeping spot: A cozy cat bed where she can hide and feel safe Wet food: Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers or Friskies Shreds Dry food: Purina ONE Adult Chicken ✨ What Makes Her Special Irene’s most striking feature is her absolutely gorgeous long coat and unique dilute calico coloring — she is truly a little work of art. 💛 Important to Know Irene is not a big fan of being held (yet). She enjoys pets and affection but is still working on feeling comfortable with being picked up. She will need a patient adopter who will give her the time and space she needs to continue building confidence. 🏡 Her Perfect Home Irene would do best in a calm, patient home that will allow her to come out of her shell at her own pace. With time, consistency, and love, we believe she will continue to blossom into a wonderfully devoted companion. If you have a soft spot for the quiet ones and believe the best relationships are built on patience and trust, Irene may be your girl. 🐾💕

Story
Nala was found back in February and has been in a foster home with her rescuer. She has since been spayed and vetted and is now ready for her forever home!  Her foster says she's quite shy but incredibly sweet. She has never hissed or tried to scratch or bite and if you sit or lay next to her, she'll slowly scoot closer to you and purr. If you move too quickly she will get spooked as she's still learning to trust humans.  Nala would likely thrive in a calm/quiet home with no young children.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 13, 2025, 1:48 pm

Story
LIZZY- 6 Years Old, DOB: 7/4/19, No Other Pets, Good with Older Kids.  Lizzy was surrendered for not getting along with the other cat in the home causing stress on Lizzy.  Lizzy is BEAUTIFUL, Sweet once comfortable, Very clean, Independent, and Playful.  Lizzy does enjoy being outside, her previous owners would let her outside with a tracker. This can be dangerous. We love that Lizzy wants to explore nature but she would need to do that with her person in a harness being walked around, or in an enclosed catio (which are super cool by the way). Catios will make it so she can be outdoors, but safe in her own space.  She is just in a back kennel, Ask to meet her!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 12, 2025, 6:24 pm
