Story
Meet Gunner, a 5-month-old, 22-lb sweetheart with the gentlest heart. Gunner was dumped at a construction site in Puerto Rico, surrounded by loud, scary machines and chaos. Terrified, he hid inside a storage container just trying to stay safe. Thankfully, rescuers found him before something terrible happened. Because of his rough start, Gunner can be a little shy at first — but it is more of a docile tentativeness as he is still incredibly loving and affectionate. He absolutely loves to snuggle and melts into you when give him belly rubs. Underneath his timid side is a soft, sweet puppy who just wants comfort, kindness, and someone to trust. Gunner also has a tiny little club foot, but vets say it is completely fine and purely cosmetic — it doesn’t slow him down one bit and there is nothing medically wrong with him. If anything, it just makes him look like he’s salsa dancing when he walks, which honestly makes him even more adorable. Now Gunner is ready for a forever home where he can continue building confidence, soaking up love, and finally experience the safe, happy puppyhood he always deserved.

Story
Maybel — short for Maybelline — is a stunning 10-month-old girl with the most striking blue eyes that look like she’s wearing perfect eyeliner all the time. At around 50 pounds, she’s the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and sweet, affectionate companionship. She’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and already doing wonderfully with potty training and leash training. Maybel is great with other dogs and has such a loving, gentle personality once she feels safe and comfortable. Like many rescue dogs, she can be a little hesitant around men at first, but with patience and kindness she quickly begins to open up and show her sweet, goofy side. Maybel is looking for a family that will continue helping her build confidence and show her that the world can be a safe, loving place. In return, she’ll give endless loyalty, cuddles, and those unforgettable blue-eyed stares.

Story
MEET RHAENA! I am currently in foster - please come to meet me Sundays in the Boston shelter!Like her Targaryen namesake, Rhaena is a rare and striking beauty. She can be a bit reserved at first but once she feels safe her true inner husky emerges. She is house and crate trained. Knows commands such as sit, lay down, and shake. She enjoys stuffies, kongs, walks, and taking up the whole couch. She could live with dogs and dog savvy cats, but would also thrive as your only pet. Rhaena has spent her first two years looking for someone as loyal as she is. She would thrive in a low-traffic home outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, where she can go on walks or use a yard in a quiet area, spend the day napping and cuddling. Knowledge of dog body language will be a big plus in helping this girl break out of her shell. Come meet Rhaena and let the reign of love begin! Rhaena is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY however, we are unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. For more information on this or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston please visit us during our adoption center hours: Wednesdays-Sundays from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, Tuesdays by appointment only from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, closed Mondays & Holidays. For information about our adoption process click here
