Story
Meet Lucy! This beautiful 7-year-old Husky is the perfect mix of sweet, social, and easygoing. Lucy loves meeting new people and greets everyone with her relaxed and friendly personality. She’s the kind of dog who enjoys being part of the action but is also happy to just hang out and enjoy your company.Lucy can do well with other dogs who understand her playful Husky personality. She can be a little mouthy and very vocal when she gets excited, so she’ll need canine friends who are tolerant and confident around her communication style. True to her breed, Lucy loves to “talk” and express herself! Lucy however has not been known to do well with cats - she is a bit too interested in chasing them around.Like many huskies, Lucy can become destructive in the home without proper exercise and stimulation. We have also been told that she is not a huge fan of going up and down stairs, but it`s possible she could get used to them with a bit of patience and encouragement. All in all, Lucy is a very sweet lady who will thrive in a home where her husky mannerisms are understood and appreciated. If you`re looking for a talkative, mature, and beautiful companion, look no further!

Story
Mitzy is a gentle, intelligent shepherd mix with a soft heart and a sensitive soul. She has spent much of her life outdoors, so the busy shelter environment and indoor living have been a huge adjustment for her. While she can be quite anxious in confined spaces and tends to pace or pant when overwhelmed, underneath that stress is a friendly girl who truly wants to connect. Though she might hang back at first and need a moment, she eventually approaches people with a soft expression and enjoys affection once she feels comfortable; enjoying chest and neck scratches. She is also very food motivated, already knows a few basic cues, and responds wonderfully to patient, reward-based training.Because of her background, Mitzy is looking for a home that can offer her space, structure, and understanding while she continues building confidence. She relaxes significantly when outdoors with room to sniff and explore, so a secure fenced yard is required for her comfort and wellbeing. She is not suited for apartment living and would do best with adopters who enjoy quieter outdoor time and are committed to continuing her training and socialization at her pace. Shepherd experience, or experience with shy or anxious dogs, would be a strong asset.Mitzy has done well meeting calm, respectful dogs and could potentially enjoy a canine companion who will give her space and help her feel secure. She would not be a match for cats or other small animals, as she is known to chase them. She may do well with respectful, dog-savvy children who understand when she needs space, though due to her excitement and tendency to jump up and give enthusiastic face kisses, sturdier kids would be the best fit.Mitzy is not the kind of dog who will walk into a new home completely confident and carefree on day one. She will need patience, guidance, and time to decompress. But for someone willing to help her feel safe and understood, Mitzy offers something incredibly special: the chance to watch a shy, anxious dog slowly realize she is finally home.
