Heyoooo, potential humans! My name is Baxter — part shepherd, part husky, and 100% dramatic main character. That’s right — I rooo, I narrate my life, I offer commentary on things only I can see, and occasionally I perform full Shakespearean monologues when my food bowl is empty. I am also extremely handsome, which I feel is important for you to know right away. I’m only a year old, so I’m still figuring out this whole “life” thing. I’m sweet, friendly, and will happily sit for treats like the polite little gentleman I am. At first I can be nervous — especially when my Emotional Support Human steps out of view — but once I warm up, I will shove my head directly into your hand like “hello yes pet me immediately.” On walks, I pull a little (I have things to investigate, okay?), but I’m not wild about it. I can be redirected ok, but will definitely need some help in this department. I LOVE treats (freeze-dried soft ones, please — I am a man of refined taste) and I LOVE attention. Toys? Eh. Maybe later, when I’m less nervous and more confident in my career as a household comedian. I’ve met strangers — cautiously at first — and dogs too! I bark a bit (I mean… I am part husky), sometimes for attention or because I have Important Thoughts. But once I settle, I’m soft-bodied, polite, and totally chill with a respectful dog friend. I do need a human who will help me learn how to be more of an inside dog, because I spent a lot of time outside in my past home. I want to learn! I just need someone patient who will show me that being indoors is safe and cozy and filled with snacks. I would prefer no apartment life (hallways are spooky, don’t ask), but a home with a yard? A calm dog friend? Respectful kids? Treats? Car rides??Oh baby. Now we’re talking.
