We have had this dog for 5 years. He is a very particular dog. Hes a lover but also likes his space when he’s tired. One of our dogs had puppies with another dog and the other boy dog stopped liking him. He got attacked a lot by this other dog. He needs a home where he’s accepted and loved. We are unable to keep him anymore because of this. He loves to play, he does not like walking on a leash. He has his own schedule of going to the bathroom. Typically right after he eats. He is house trained but he will potty in the house at the beginning. It’s a nerves thing for him. He has some unknown ADHD. He is a big lover though, loves snuggles. Loves other animals if they love him back.

He was found on the side of the interstate after he'd been hit by a car. The impact fractured his pelvis and tail. Unfortunately his tail had to be amputated to allow recovery. Jake is what Husky people refer to as having a "true Husky" personality. Friendly and social, but with a super stubborn streak! He'd be best suited in a home with prior Husky experience. Jacob is estimated to be a few years old. Due to his injury, we're only now allowing brief interactions with other dogs, though we can say he's never been bothered seeing them while outside. There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. If one of our dogs is reported to have lived with cats previously, that will be indicated in the dog's description! IS THIS DOG GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS? No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. IS THIS DOG GOOD WITH CHILDREN? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. The top reasons dogs are given up are: Moving without considering the needs of the pets Death of the owner with no plan in place for the pets Previous owner did not provide appropriate training Owner did not consider the lifespan of a dog Owner did not consider the cost of providing for a dog
