Chance came into our lives as a tiny baby last year. We were caring for a feral mama cat and her four kittens when she unexpectedly brought Chance into our yard and began nursing him too. We brought him inside, fostered him, and eventually found him what we hoped would be his forever home.
Unfortunately, about a year later, his owner had to move and could no longer care for him or her other two cats, so Chance came back to us and is now looking for a new home.
Chance is an exceptional cat. He grew up with our tiny toy poodle and another male cat, and in his previous home he lived with both a male and female cat. He would likely do well with other friendly animals that are comfortable welcoming a new pet, but he could also be a great first pet for someone looking for a sweet companion.
He’s gentle, curious, playful, and incredibly endearing. He can be a little reserved at first, but once he gets to know you, his personality really comes out. He becomes more vocal and affectionate and loves nothing more than dramatically plopping himself onto the carpet, rolling onto his back, and asking for belly rubs.
He’s also very athletic and loves launching himself into the air to catch toys thrown his way. We’re even working on bringing back his “sit” and “give paw” skills, which he learned as a kitten.
We named him Chance because from the very beginning, he seemed like a little cat who just needed someone to give him one. Despite a few unexpected turns in his first year of life, he remains such a gentle, loving boy. We know his forever home is out there, and we would love to help him find the person or family who will give this very special cat the chance he deserves.
