Tabby kittens & cats in San Ramon, California

Hello, I’m ELMO! My foster family gave me the name, Elmo, because I’m little, spunky, and super cute (I’m not red, though…I’m a brown tiger)!!! I’m also special because I have Wobbly Cat Syndrome, also known as cerebellar hypoplasia. This will not affect my ability to be like a regular kitten/cat, (please view the video posted on my profile), and it will not progress or need any extra veterinary care. I am still a vibrant, lovable purr baby and always will be. I was tiny, dirty, and famished. My guardian angel fed me, bathed me, fed me, and fed me some more. I love her so much because she loved me, cuddled me, and made me so comfortable. In the 10 days I was in her care, I gained enough weight to be able to be transferred to a Safe Cat Foundation foster mom. Since then, I have been dewormed, vaccinated, and neutered, and now I am searching for my perfect forever family. I am adorable, cuddly, curious, daring, and the perfect kitten. I am also 100% litter box trained. I get along with people, cats, and dogs. I love to explore around the house, play with my toys (especially a special rainbow-colored wand), wrestle with human hands, and when I settle down, I love to snuggle. Lois was born in February 2018 (~7 years old). We adopted her at 8 months old in October 2018 from East County Animal Shelter. She is a playful cat and very friendly with people, although she is shy around other animals. Lois is a healthy, loving, litter-trained cat with all necessary immunizations and was spayed at eight months old. She is a curious cat who gets along with people, but is quite shy around all other animals. She has lived with another cat briefly and was quite independent and shy, but got along just fine and eventually warmed up to the other cat when she grew curious of how he opened cupboards. She is a very brave cat, but is scared of large dogs. She has tried to befriend a small cat while on a walk. Lois is an indoor cat, but is very comfortable outside and gets a lot of sunlight. I’m happy to provide her records, toys, treats, and an automatic litter box.

Chestnut is a beautiful, affectionate, wonderful boy. I estimate that he’s about a year and a half old. I took him in 4 months ago when my big-hearted friend was unable to care for him and her 2 other rescue cats, which I am also rehoming. Chestnut loves belly rubs, is an enthusiastic purrer, and will want to be near you but won’t commandeer your lap. He’s playful and loves to chase and cuddle with other cats. A home with one of more active cats would be ideal. He and Beau (pictured and also listed) would make a great pair. The adoption fee will be completely refunded after he’s lived with you for 6 months.

Henry was unique from the beginning. He was always sweet and not very shy. He warms up quickly, likes to play a lot. He likes to look out the window and eat his kitty treats! I’ve known Henry since he was about a year old. We trapped him at a creek where there were lots of feral kitties. Because he was feral he had to get a notch in his right ear. He is the perfect orange kitty, a real charming boy. I would love to find a forever home for him with someone who wants an adult cat who likes to chill and also who appreciates play time. He gets long with other kitties and would need time to adjust to his new surroundings.,

We are looking for a loving home for our three wonderful cats. These cats were rescued from the backyard a few years ago after being abandoned by their mother, and we've cared for them ever since. However, with the arrival of our newborn baby and our busy full-time jobs, we are no longer able to give them the time and attention they deserve. We hope to find a home where they will get the love, care, and interaction they need. Ideally, we would love to keep them together, but we understand that this may not always be possible. Even if you can offer a home to just one of them, it would mean the world to us. Here’s a little bit about each of them: • Evee: He’s the friendliest and loves to cuddle. She enjoys being around people and would make a wonderful companion for anyone who wants a snuggly cat. • Calbee: A bit shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he’s very sweet and loving. • Sandee: Similar to Calbee, she’s a little shy at first but very sweet once she feels comfortable.

We adopted Patch ~10 years ago & she has been a part of our family of 2 cats & 2 dogs. However, Patch does not get along with the other animals. That’s why we couldn’t take her to Nevada; she doesn’t like dogs. And we had another cat that Patch always got in a fight with. So for now, she’s in our daughter’s garage, but our daughter is allergic to her, so Patch is not getting any attention. Patch is a very affectionate kitty so this Breaks. My. Heart.

Meet Mango 🥭 ! He's a lovely ginger tabby who we found in the yard behind our class lot. He requires an indoor home with lots of toys and food. He's a chubby little bundle of joy who is extremely friendly and loves people. Mango is super outgoing and an extremely gentle boy, not to mention he's very smart! He adores munching on his cat food and even drags the can around the garden to keep it all to himself! In a typical day, he likes playing with toys, usually the cat wand, sleeping in the sunlight and eating! He gets along with other cats, but unsure about dogs.

Brooke came into the shelter with a ruptured eye and had to have it removed. She's a sweet little girl who can be shy but is very bonded to her Siamese friend May as they have been together since they were brought into the shelter. She will need to be indoors only. Dear Lancelot, I write this as you lay beside me. I remember when I first learned about you. It was an urgent plea on Next Door from the shelter, saying your time was running out. I didn't really know much about cats, having cared mostly for dogs in the past, but I offered to foster you the moment I saw that post. I remember when I picked you up from the shelter. How you sat in your crate looking at me. How your mouth made meowing motions but no sound came out. My heart melted a little at your silent meows. I remember bringing you home, opening your crate as I sat beside you on the bed. I know some cats take time to adjust to new surroundings so I was prepared to give you space. But you immediately crawled onto my lap and purred the loudest purrs I'd ever heard as I petted you. We went through a lot together in the months that followed. And I bet it was nothing compared to what you went through the months you stayed at the shelter. You were so listless those first months, barely moving every day, and just skin and bones. Although I could tell you were hungry, eating caused you pain so you were scared to even approach food. And you were a master hider. I had to put a loud bell on you because you found hiding spots I never knew existed. Looking back, now that I know the real you, I understand just how much pain you must've been in all that time. That you suffered so greatly and for so long hurts my heart. But what an astounding trooper you were throughout it all. Despite how awful you must've felt, you remained so gentle and sweet. It's been 4 weeks now as I write this that your health started to improve. 8 vet visits, an ultrasound, biopsy, several blood tests, and surgery to have all of your teeth extracted. You've been through so much in such a short time, but finally I've gotten to see the real Lancelot. And what a delight you are. I love how you sometimes jump on the bed and sleep beside us. How you curl up in the crook of an arm, or rest your body next to ours. I love how silly you are when you swat at dangling string or rub up against catnip toys. I love how you follow me around the house, from room to room, often running up ahead of me a little as if to say, "I'm gonna get there before you!", and then running the other way as soon as I turn around. I love how you sit in the yard with me as I'm typing away on my laptop or gardening. How mellow you are and content to watch the passersby. I love how you let me put a harness on you and attempt to take you on a walk because I think all cats have a little bit of dog in them. I love how, when I'm in the other room with the dog, who we keep separated from you, you wait right in front of the door until I come out so that you can be by my side again. My little shadow, my sidekick. I love YOU, you funny, sweet cat, with the silent meows that every once in a while turn into the littlest squeaks. I can't believe the changes I've witnessed in you these past few weeks. Every day has been a gift. I almost can't bear to watch the old video of you at the shelter now because it reminds me of your pain. I hope your new family never has to see you like that. But if they do, I hope they will do all they can to take care of you and help to make you feel better. You may have special needs, but I hope they realize that you're worth it, that you deserve the best. You're now ready for adoption. This was my end goal from day one, my purpose in your life. I'm thrilled you've gotten to this point, and that I had the privilege of getting you there. I'm going to miss you so much. But the Lancelot-shaped hole you'll leave in my heart will be fair exchange for knowing that you'll fill somebody else's heart. I am filled with gratitude for having known you, Your Foster Mum (Lancelot has FIV and stomatitis, both of which are under control with the help of medication, given with high quality wet food.)

Leroy came into the shelter with his 3 siblings as strays. They got the normal kitten cold and were treated. Leroy is a sweet, mellow dude who gets along well with all cats. It would be great if he could go home with his brother Steve but he can be adopted as a single kitten.
