Story
Chloe is a sweet cat who likes to play and talk to you with short meows. Her fur is like a mink coat - super soft. She likes to be petted and touched, and always shows her belly to be rubbed . When she gets picked up she immediately kneeds (or needles you.) When she was found in a colony, she was trapped and spayed and returned to her location. She had two kittens who were eventually adopted. Over the course of several months, she was found to be very friendly. Always rolling over and showing her belly. The caregiver decided to bring her inside with her kitty partner, Bobby She was shy at first, but settled down within 24 hours of being moved. An ideal situation for Chloe and Bobby is to be rehomed together to a person familiar with cats. Even though they were not always together at their feeding location, they do keep each other company. I am not sure if they would work with kids. They are nice indoor cats -  not standing at the door or window scratching to get out. Chloe's recent vet appointment found her negative for FIV/FEV and very healthy. She is an unfussy eater and uses her litter box. Chloe is currently living in Belmont, CA 94002 Please note: Chloe should be adopted with her best friendMore information & application [ts=1764921641&src=aap]

Story
Meet Cutie — The Quiet Adventurer! Cutie is a handsome white-and-orange boy with a gentle soul and a slightly mischievous streak. Bonded with his sister Leia, Cutie helped her come out of her shell just as much as she helped him. The two struggled with integrating at first, but once they had each other - their confidence bloomed. Now they move through the world side by side, supporting one another in all their quiet adventures. Cutie is a super quiet sweetheart. He’s alert and always observing everything around him… and occasionally plotting his next harmless stunt. He doesn’t meow, hiss, or make a fuss; he simply watches, thinks, and then finds a way to do the unexpected. While Cutie isn’t the biggest cuddler—just like his sister—he doesn’t run or hide from people. He’s simply a gentle, cautious boy who needs patience, understanding, and the steady presence of his bonded sister. What he does love is playtime, and wand toys are his absolute FAVORITE. Bring out a wand, and this quiet boy becomes an Olympic gymnast. Cutie and Leia are a devoted pair who balance each other beautifully. They’re searching for a calm, loving home that will appreciate their sweet personalities, quirky antics, and the special bond they share. If you’re ready to welcome a gentle, observant, and quietly silly pair into your heart, Cutie and Leia are waiting for you. He was found with his siblings and several other cats living under a shed. After spending his early weeks out in the cold, a compassionate trapper rescued him and brought him to his foster home. He has been raised in a loving foster home ever since. He hopes to be adopted with his sister Leia! He has been treated for fleas, worms, and has received his vaccines. He has been neutered. Cutie is currently living in Menlo Park, CA 94025 Please note: Cutie should be adopted with a littermateMore information & application [ts=1764921641&src=aap]

Story
I have a sweet senior gal who has a history she keeps to herself, but this is what I know. About 6 years ago I moved into my apartment and started to notice the outside (feral) cat population. I started to rescue the kittens and a neighbor and I began TNRing the cats.    Right away I noticed this precious kitty was more timid and reserved and seemed to want attention but was very scared. Over time I have gained her trust and I and my daughter were both able to pet and hold her, on her terms, when she wanted. She would rub on us and actively show affection. Over the years I noticed she had on and off URIs and would stay away or hidden often.   This year I was very worried because her fur was matted (which is odd because she is short haired and that usually doesn’t happen), oily and very dirty (a sign she was not taking care of herself), she was loosing weight and  less affectionate. I wasn’t sure she would make it through this coming winter so I had to do something. I ended up being able to get her into a vet bill pay program for feral cats, so I put her into a carrier on August 1st and took her to the vet they recommended on August 2nd, where bloodwork and a urinalysis were done as well as a full exam. She was fully vaccinated, given flea medicine as well as getting her fur cleaned and mats shaved. The vet informed me that Taco is estimated to be about 10 years old and she had severe teeth/dental issues that should be addressed. Her test results all came back normal except that she was anemic but that was most likely due to the fleas she had long term. It was recommended to run bloodwork again in a month to be sure.    Over the next few weeks she gradually stop eating. On September 3rd I finally raised enough money for a rescue discount (through a vet compassionate person even though they could not take her in). Another full exam was done and as well as bloodwork and antibiotics given due the severity of her dental condition. Her bloodwork again came back normal and she was no longer anemic. So on September 5th she had almost all of her teeth removed. Since then she has a great appetite…eating pate and gravy based foods well. She has gained weight and is doing great.    Taco is still a little reserved and cautious but comfortable overall. She needs time to adjust to new people but seems to be coming out of her shell more and more. She is still learning how to be “a pet” and what she likes and is comfortable with. She loves pets and chin scratches but is learning that being held is ok and lap sits are good.    She has another female roommate at the moment and she growls at her sometimes BUT there is NO aggression and they lay near each and co-exist closely. So as long as they are introduced properly, I think she could live with another cat. I feel she would do great in a quiet home. Kids should be fine if they are older and pet savvy. I’m not sure about dogs, but I think it would be ok if the dog is calm and introduced correctly.   Please adopt Taco Gato/Cat. Taco Gato/Cat is currently living in Hayward, CA 94544-5132 More information & application [ts=1764921641&src=aap]
