Story
Casey is approximately 15 years old. He has had only one owner, my senior mother unfortunately my mother is now in long-term care. I have taken him in, but he really should be in a home with only one person no children and definitely no pets. The person adopting him will need to be compassionate experienced and have patience for the transition. He was quite affectionate with my mother (as I show in photo). he is upset now to be apart from her. I currently have him in a spare bedroom that was cleared out and swapped with mother’s belongs (chair, sofa, area rug) to help him feel at home. He lives in this room solely as I have both a cat and a dog and Casey has never lived with other animals. I play ambient music most of the day, and provide a place that he can jump up to look out window. He seems healthy, but I can not bring him to the vet, financially for me, and he is upset at this time to have been moved so I am letting him be. I hope someone will find in their heart a place for him

Story
🖤 Double the Love. Double the Purrs. One Forever Home. 🖤 Meet Janey & Hugo—a bonded mother and son whose hearts are as intertwined as their tails. These two have been through so much together, and after everything they've overcome, they're looking for one special family willing to give them the chance they deserve. Janey (about 1½ years old) and Hugo (almost 1 year old) are impossible to tell apart at first glance. Both have luxurious, velvety black coats, stunning golden eyes, and matching little white lockets on their chests. Look a little closer and you'll spot Janey's signature feature—white "paint-dipped" toes on the tips of her back feet. Their names carry a special meaning. They were rescued from the streets on the day the world lost the incredible Jane Goodall, so they were named after her and her son, Hugo. It seemed only fitting for a mother and son who had survived so much together. Their bond is truly something special. They eat every meal side by side—usually trying to squeeze their faces into the same bowl, even when they each have their own. They act like they've never been fed before, singing the loudest dinner songs while you prepare their food until the second the bowls hit the floor. If one wanders off and the other can't find them? They'll call out until they're reunited. They chase each other through the house like playful siblings, pouncing around corners before curling up together in the same cat bed every night. Hugo is almost bigger than his mom now, yet somehow they still insist on squeezing into one tiny bed together. They even have their own little language. Janey is the outgoing one. She adores affection and will happily curl up beside you or in your lap, soaking up all the love you have to give. Hugo is a little more reserved. Once you've earned his trust, he loves gentle pets and quiet companionship. He's happiest lounging nearby—or snuggled up with his mom. Because of their difficult start in life, Janey and Hugo are understandably cautious with strangers and unfamiliar places. Meet-and-greet events simply don't show who they really are. They need time to settle in, observe, and realize they're safe. That's why we're hoping to find someone willing to offer them a 2–3 week trial period before making a final adoption decision. We promise...your patience will be rewarded. Once these two decide you're their person, they are incredibly loyal, affectionate companions with huge personalities that will fill your home with laughter and love. They're also wonderful with other cats and dogs! They adore the younger foster kittens, playing with them, grooming them, and fully embracing their roles as everyone's favorite aunt and uncle. Their ideal home: 🖤 Adults only 🏡 Calm, patient environment 🐾 Other friendly cats and/or dogs are welcome—and encouraged! ❤️ Someone willing to let them settle in at their own pace Janey and Hugo are: ✔️ Spayed & neutered ✔️ Vaccinated ✔️ Microchipped They are fostered in Huntsville, Alabama, and transport up to two hours away is available for the right adopter. Some cats need someone to fall in love with them instantly. Janey and Hugo just need someone willing to spend a little time getting to know them. If you can offer patience instead of pressure, they'll spend the rest of their lives proving it was worth every minute. 🖤
