Hi, my name is Freckles and I'm about 4 years old.  I was a stray and rescued by a BCHS volunteer, and brought to Bond County Humane Society to find a loving permanent home.  I live with another FIV positive cat at the shelter. I am playful and like to chase bouncy balls. I like to get to know you before I want to be petted.  Of course, this is all on my terms.  I determine when and how long you can pet me.  I love to explore and look in all the nooks and crannies around the shelter. I am considered Special Needs for a couple reasons.  First, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).  FIV is comparable to AIDS in people. It is transmitted to other cats by scratching or biting. There is not a vaccine available to provide immunity to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV positive cats. I can have a normal life expectancy of a cat. Hi, my name is Periwinkle and I'm about 7 1/2 months old.   Me, my mom and 3 litter mates were surrendered to Bond County Humane Society when I was 1 day old.  Our mom, Lilac, was a stray. I am a beautiful black kitten with a little white on my belly. I am the vocal one of the group.  I like to talk and let people know what I want.  I like to play with my litter mates and with toys. I like to climb up onto people's backs when they bend over.
