Hi, my name is Freckles and I'm about 4 1/2 years old.  I was a stray and rescued by a BCHS volunteer, and brought to Bond County Humane Society to find a loving permanent home. I am playful and like to chase bouncy balls. I like to get to know you before I want to be petted.  Of course, this is all on my terms.  I determine when and how long you can pet me.  I love to explore and look in all the nooks and crannies around the shelter. I am considered Special Needs for a couple reasons.  First, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).  FIV is comparable to AIDS in people. It is transmitted to other cats by scratching or biting. There is not a vaccine available to provide immunity to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV positive cats. I can have a normal life expectancy of a cat. I'm cautious when people come to my compartment, but then I like to be picked up and snuggled. Hi, my name is Whiskers and I'm about 8 1/2 months old. I was found as a stray and surrendered to Bond County Humane Society so I can find a new loving home. My white and grey fur is very handsome. I get along well with the other cats in my room and enjoy a little wrestling match too. I am a little shy, but soon I will come to you to be picked up and petted. I like to play with little spring cat toys! If you pick me up and pet me, you may notice a bone which seems to be sticking out at the bottom of my ribs. It is part of the xiphoid process of the sternum which is broken. I have been examined by a veterinarian and x-rayed.
