You don't often hear of a cat surviving after being hit by a car. Well, Spot did. Although, now she is paralyzed and has very little function in her back legs. (Sidenote! Email us at pets@michianapets.org to request an application. Spot is in a foster home!) We were not sure if Spot was going to be able to make it through her trauma. But each day, she was getting stronger, healing more and was proving to be the absolute sweetest and most loving girl. We were so grateful to be able to give her a second chance. Spot needed a foster home because the kennel-life was not a fit for her. Her foster family is amazing and they created a bag that goes around her waist so she can "walk" around without getting abrasions and wounds on her back legs. Spot was not remotely interested in a wheelchair; her little drag-bag allows her to be just as mobile and she is totally succeeding! Here is a note from her foster mom: "Spot is a one-year-old spayed bundle of love and curiosity. Spot is an incredibly affectionate girl who wants nothing more than to be by your side (or better yet, in your lap). She will happily curl up for hours, purring and chatting away with her soft, sweet meows. She truly loves to “talk.” Spot’s favorite toys are anything with feathers, and she’s wonderful with dogs of all sizes. Despite losing the use of her back legs, Spot hasn’t lost her joyful spirit or her zest for life. She has adapted beautifully and gets around with ease, always eager to explore, cuddle, and make friends. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with love, warmth, and a little chatter, Spot is your girl. She is full of curiosity, joy, and nonstop purrs. 🩵🩵Bailey and Mr. Buttons🩵🩵 are about twelve years young, weigh about 14 pounds each, are neutered and are beyond lovable good boys. They are both very gentle and just want to be nearby for pets, love and affection! Mr. Buttons (grey tabby) is very vocal at treat time and loves all types of treats. Bailey (brown tabby/white) will take some time to feel safe. They will do best in a quiet setting with someone who can give them lots of attention. They haven’t been around my cats so I’m not sure how they will do with other cats. Bailey is shyer but is coming around for lots of snuggles. I think they will do great in a quiet home and, just like with me, it will take time and patience for Bailey to feel comfortable🐾 Imagine having almost 30 pounds of snuggly, cuddly, purr-y, lovable good boys added to your life. We are head-over-heels for 🏎️🤍Momma Porsche🤍🏎️ She couldn't be sweeter. She couldn't be more loving. From day one, she's been the best momma to her kittens. She spent time with them in a foster home so here is a note from her foster dad... "Momma Porsche is the sweetest girl. She has been a very attentive mother. Porsche is very fond of people, and loves to be petted and doted on. If you give her ear scratches, she will stay by you forever. Porsche is a very nice and sweet girl. She does get a little enthusiastic about using the litterbox, and can be a bit messy so a high sided litterbox will help contain everything." -Porsche's foster dad.
