She will happily carry on a conversation with you any day, especially if treats are involved. Lyra isn't much for cuddly holding sessions (she's got things to do, okay?), but with some patience and love she will gladly accept lots of pets. She has done okay with other cats that match her energy or are laid back but she would also be great as your only kitty. She has not yet been tested with dogs and would likely do best in a home with older children that understand her boundaries of not wanting to be picked up at times.  Lyra's adoption fee is $85 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations, and an FeLV/FIV test. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of having kept their pets altered and current on vaccinations, preventatives, and wellness exams. George was part of a litter born under a shed next to a very busy alley. Our volunteer TNRed the litter but George was very friendly and didn't stay away from the cars. We just couldn't leave him out there. George was adopted by his caregiver, but she had to move so he was returned.Indoor homes only unless the cat is part of our barn cat program. Home visits are required so we are limit adoptions to approximately 45 minutes from Cedar Rapids, IA. Iowa adoptions only -no out of state adoptions.
