Domestic Shorthair kittens & cats in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Luna is 2 years old and was born June 2021. We found Luna in a shelter in Iowa with her mother and brother. Luna is pretty chill, sweet cat and would enjoy a home without lots of dogs barking. In true tortie form she looks for pets when she wants them and is happy to sit on your lap or next to you when she feels like it. She would enjoy another cat pal or small quiet dog, but it would likely take a while for her to warm up to them :). We tried to make Luna comfortable, but realize she is pretty miserable living with large dogs. She spends most of her time in our basement ceiling hiding from them when they bark. We are moving to an area of the country where we will have no basement and concerned Luna would have no where to feel secure and safe from the dogs.

Sassafras was considered a spicy cat when he first came in, but he is actually a snuggly sweetheart. He hates being given oral meds and may get a bit spicy about that....but otherwise he loves cuddles, rubbing against you and booping your nose with his. Sass is a neutered male who is litterbox trained. He eats Purina One dry food, but his favorite is Fancy Feast pate. He has a good appetite. He has spent some time in the crate daily, but prefers being able to roam. If you're looking for someone who would enjoy snuggling while you watch TV, this is your guy:)

Sissy is such a sweet girl. She came to us with her brother Sassafrass. Sissy loves people and gets really excited when someone comes into the room. She wants to rub against you, boop your nose, and crawl into your arms. Sissy eats well, both dry and wet food. She uses the litterbox well, is up to date on shots, and is spayed. Someone is going to hit the jackpot with her! Be prepared for Sissy and her brother to be standoffish and shy at first. But once they know they are safe and loved, they quickly blossom. Both now sleep with me, and only hide when they think I'm going to give them meds:) Sissy is more cuddly than she is playful, but the way she drinks water makes me laugh. I kept hearing all this noise at the water dish. Sissy was dipping her paw in and drinking water out of her paw. It's the only way I've seen her drink:). Se doesn't enjoy taking meds, but is very docile about it....she just seethes with silent rage:). Afterwards she may hide briefly but doesn't hold a grudge. Both cats have their claws, but use them carefully
