Story
I found Bug in the wheel well of an abandoned car in Hoh rainforest when I was working as a NPS ranger. She was tiny and emaciated - the vet I took her to the same day said she was found in the nick of time (he’s the one who identified her as a Pixiebob). With worming, shots, lots of food and tlc, she has gotten to where she is thriving physically (13-14 lbs). She is still very emotionally needy - loves me and can be affectionate, but she’s very territorial. I have another smaller cat to whom she’s taken an intense dislike, and I fear for the little one’s safety. I believe Bug will do well in a house with adults where she’s the only cat. She doesn’t take to strangers quickly, but when she’s given time she likes to interact with them

Story
Fred is a gentle, affectionate senior who forms deep bonds once he feels safe and comfortable. At 13 years young, he’s a total lovebug—affectionate, gentle, and happiest when he’s close to his people. If you sit down, chances are Fred will be right there with you, soaking up attention and asking (politely but persistently) for a good brushing, which just happens to be one of his very favorite things. At first meeting, Fred can be a little shy and cautious with new people—but give him a bit of time, a calm voice, and some patience, and his loving personality begins to shine. Fred is also wonderfully chatty. He enjoys carrying on conversations, offering commentary on your day, and reminding you when it’s time for love, snacks, or more brushing. His sweet, expressive nature makes him a joy to be around. Fred must be adopted with his sister, Ginger, who has been his constant companion his entire life. The two came to The Cat’s Meow after their beloved owner passed away, and they are very bonded and comforting to one another. They have always been indoor-only cats and have known a quiet, loving home. Earlier in life, Fred and Ginger lived with a dog and would likely do well again with an older, calm, cat-friendly canine. They would thrive in a peaceful home where they can enjoy cozy naps, gentle routines, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking to open your heart to a devoted pair of seniors who have so much love left to give, Fred and Ginger may be the perfect match. ‍Looking for a name for your new cat or kitten? Story
Roo has been well loved by my senior mother her entire life. She is affectionate and wants pets but not to be held. She is not afraid of strangers and is friendly to all She seems to be tolerant of children although we have made sure the grandkids respect her space. she would prefer not to have children mess with her. She would appreciate being the only child no other cats or dogs in the home or small children that might bother her. She has lived with a boy cat that she tolerates but she is boss! My mom recently got a small fox looking dog and she will attack him If she sees fit. She is protective of my mom and sees as a threat. She loves to go outside and does well navigating it, has lived near forestlands , and will be happiest if she is allowed to go in and out at her leisure. She has recently been prevented from going outside due to landlord rules and she has gained some weight from it. It is important we find a good fit and would love to chat if you think you might be.
