CHARLIE: Plott Hound mix/Neutered Male/8 months old/25 lbs. CHARLIE, is a very cheerful and affectionate dog. He comes from a home where he experienced abuse, but he still likes being around people. He sleeps in a crate, gets along with other dogs, is not destructive, enjoys going for walks in the park, and shares his bed without any problem. He's an energetic dog, but walks and Playing helps him release his energy and keep him calm. He enjoys car rides, which he loves. Every dog deserves a safe and loving home — adopt a rescue dog today. Cedar is a gentle dog, very docile. I adopted him from the Pasadena Humane Society, but he had come in with a smaller female companion who was probably his littermate. She was adopted out very quickly. Since he’s been with me, he’s been withdrawn and just wants to stay in his crate to feel safe. He can be gently pulled out to go potty outside. I think he would prefer a home with another dog that might help to show him the way. I believe that with time & training, he will be fine, particularly if he has another dog in his life. He was around my two small granddaughters and was entirely non-reactive. I’ve never heard him bark. He’s been to the vet, has all his shots, flea and tick meds, and has a good appetite.

Kona is turning 5 years old. She is a very lively and loving dog, and is truly loyal. She is super friendly to other people and tends to try lick their faces. Kona loves her treats and toys (Mainly treats as she is very treat motivated). I’m looking for a home for her that is truly going to cherish her and welcome her to a family. I have a hard time letting go of her, but I believe she needs to find a home as I am in the Marine Corps, and I feel guilty and selfish that I can barely spend time with her.

His sleek, dark coat, soft floppy ears, and soulful eyes tell the story of a dog who’s known love — and who’s ready to find it again. Though technically a senior, Rocko moves with the ease and energy of a much younger dog. He has plenty of adventures, walks, and snuggles left in him, and he’s determined to make the most of every one. Rocko’s story is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. He was surrendered to a county shelter by the only family he’d ever known after they moved away. He waited, confused and heartbroken, in a place that’s especially hard on senior dogs. When The Misfit Ranch heard about him, we knew we couldn’t let such a wonderful boy fade into the background — so we brought him into our care to give him a second chance at a forever family (for real this time). And what a reward it’s been! Rocko is the perfect companion — calm, affectionate, and endlessly loyal. He’s fantastic with people, gentle with kids, and gets along beautifully with medium and large dogs. He’s not a fan of little dogs, so he’ll do best in a home without the tiny ones — but with dogs his own size, he’s a total gentleman. He’s already house-trained and crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is content to curl up beside you after a stroll.
