Story

Cedar is a gentle dog, very docile. I adopted him from the Pasadena Humane Society, but he had come in with a smaller female companion who was probably his littermate. She was adopted out very quickly. Since he’s been with me, he’s been withdrawn and just wants to stay in his crate to feel safe. He can be gently pulled out to go potty outside. I think he would prefer a home with another dog that might help to show him the way. I believe that with time & training, he will be fine, particularly if he has another dog in his life. He was around my two small granddaughters and was entirely non-reactive. I’ve never heard him bark. He’s been to the vet, has all his shots, flea and tick meds, and has a good appetite.

He sleeps in a crate, gets along with other dogs, is not destructive, enjoys going for walks in the park, and shares his bed without any problem. Bourbon is HANDSOME, he definitely has that WOWfactor when you see him in person. Bourbon is also very friendly, I’m sure he will be quite the energetic young pup once he is healed! Bourbon shows zero reaction to any of the dogs (large or small) in the kennel area during my time with him. Treat motivated and unwilling to show if he knows any basic commands but he allows all touch and is attention seeking. Now to the nitty gritty; Bourbon was found with an injured leg on a property in an industrial area. Per medical records: Bourbon has a comminuted fracture of the right femur that will require surgical repair. ##2611535##

A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog currently in Oakland, CA, whose essence is a whirlwind of playful charm wrapped in a stunning merle coat and powered by puppy-sized curiosity. Meep is a big-hearted 90 pound pup with a big future! He’s the kind of companion who makes every day feel like recess, with boundless energy, a contagious grin, and a serious love for belly rubs. Meep lives for zooming around the yard, soaking up attention, and gleefully interacting with people and pups who appreciate his enthusiastic approach to life. This sweet boy is both crate trained and house-trained, making him a solid addition to a home that can offer him structure, consistency, and lots of active time. He’s mastered “sit” like a pro, especially when there’s a treat or belly scratch involved, and he’s incredibly tuned in to his humans, always eager to learn and please! While Meep is still working on leash manners (a little leash reactivity pops up now and then), with positive reinforcement and regular walks, he’s well on his way to being a stellar walking buddy. Meep gets along especially well with small dogs and adores young children, showing a gentle and goofy side that melts hearts.
