Story
Say Howdy to Daryl and Jessie! Their owner had to surrender them after an unexpected medical condition left him unable to care for them.  This bonded pair are only a year apart, and have been raised together since puppyhood so we really want to keep them together! He’s a little bit country and she’s a little bit rock-n-roll, but they go together like peas and carrots!  Daryl is a laid-back, handsome brindle with a sweet, calm demeanor, and gives the best dog hugs ever! The true hound that he is, he loves long walks with his nose to the ground or in the air to make sure those pesky squirrels stay up in the trees.  But don’t let him fool you, he has a funny, mischievous side as well.  If his nose can reach it, his mouth can eat it, but only when you’re not looking.   While Daryl is happy moseying along, Jessie’s ready to put the pedal to the metal.   She puts the “sass” in sassafras!   When this girl gets excited, clear the floor, ‘cause she likes to dance like no one’s watching!  This little fashionista somehow matched her eyes to her coat, she’s a real beauty!  But there’s nothing she loves more than snuggling up with you on the couch.  That is, once you move her over an inch and squeeze in beside her.  She’s not giving up her spot easily! They may be polar opposites, but they agree that they are looking for somebody with a lot of love to give…and treats(bones)…and cuddles…and belly/butt rubs and, oh yeah, a big yard would be great because, well, they’re not the best on leash, but they’re getting better!   July 26, 2024, 5:12 pm

Story
How this little munckhin wound up in a shelter is mind blowing. He's the cutest, silliest little thing. A lover of life he is living this life of his to the fullest. He is currently living with two other dogs and can carry his weight, is making progress on his house and crate training as well as other little tricks like knowing the dog door and how to sit.   He's still very much a puppy but would be good in any home! He is currently living with Frieda and two other dogs and doing great! To meet this handsome fellow, go to www.eapl.com and fill out an application.  His adoption fee is $375July 26, 2024, 4:44 pm

Story
Introducing Tiger! Tiger was saved from the euthanasia list at ACS in San Antonio in January. A little back story on him…get your tissues ready…this poor guy has had a terrible life. The kind soul who saved him from being euthanized lived next door to Tiger and helped take care of him his whole life. Tiger’s owner passed away a couple of months ago, and the owner’s girlfriend surrendered Tiger to ACS. His owner had him tied up outside all his life. He was always neglected and infested with fleas. Often the neighbor found herself having to feed and give him water because his owner would not. Despite living in such miserable conditions, in those moments of offering Tiger care, she said he was the sweetest and most caring dog and when she found out he had been surrendered, she could not let him lose his life. He deserves the chance to know love and be loved.  Tiger is an older gentleman. He’s 9 years old and weighs in at 80 pounds. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and current on both flea & tick and heartworm prevention. He’s goofy, gentle, and playful for his age. He’s great with anyone he meets and other dogs too but would do best in a home without cats. Tiger is ready to find a family who is going to shower him with love and let him live out his golden years.  Could you be his hero? redfernanimalrescue.org/adopt ##1991538##

Story
There's so much to appreciate about a senior dog! They are who they are, they're content with a more relaxed exercise routine, and they lounge well. If that's your speed, too, Daisy may be a perfect fit for you! In her previous home, Daisy demonstrated a natural talent for and successfully completed several rounds of scent work training.Daisy has been described by our volunteers as a great walker who enjoys sauntering and taking in the day. She has a fondness for being petted, especially behind her ears. Just an overall sweetheart!Daisy is affectionate and demonstrative with her friends, and can be a bit curmudgeonly with others, preferring to take her time considering new friendships. Daisy has only had uncomfortable experiences with neighbor children and would prefer an adult only household. Though Daisy made dog friends when she was younger, at this stage in her life is disinterested and intolerant of the shenanigans of youngsters, so is seeking a home as the only dog. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 70.4 Age: 10yrs 11mths 3wks
