Story
This sweet boy found himself stuck in a ravine in Houston, TX and was unable to escape. A kind human discovered Johnny and worked to free him. Despite a rough start to his life, Johnny is remarkably well-adjusted to life in his new foster home in Houston. He is wonderful with other dogs and kids. We are unsure at this time how he would do with cats. Foster-to-adopt is available!  ##2764985##

Story
Lyla’s story began with heartbreak when she was cruelly abandoned from a truck in Texas, but thanks to a kind Samaritan, she was rescued and given a second chance. Despite her rough start, Lyla has remained incredibly sweet, loving, and trusting. She absolutely adores people and has the kind of gentle, affectionate personality that makes everyone fall in love with her almost instantly. Lyla is happiest when she’s close to her humans. Whether she’s leaning in for pets, following you from room to room, resting her head in your lap, or curling up beside you on the couch, she simply loves being part of the family. She has a soft, loving nature and looks at her people with so much trust and devotion. Even after everything she’s been through, she greets the world with kindness, affection, and a wagging tail. Like any young pup, Lyla is still working on a few basics, including potty training and remembering to keep all four paws on the ground when greeting her favorite humans. She just gets so excited to see people! The good news is that she’s a smart girl who learns quickly and improves every day with patience and consistency. Lyla gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and loves playing with her foster fur siblings and carrying around her favorite toys. She has a lovely medium energy level — playful and curious when it’s time for fun, but also perfectly content spending quiet evenings snuggled up watching TV with her people. New places and unfamiliar noises can make Lyla a little nervous at first, but she warms up quickly with reassurance and love. She is bravely learning that the world can be safe and full of good things, and watching her confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. Currently around 35 pounds, Lyla is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog of about 50–60 pounds full grown. She’s looking for a patient, loving family who will continue helping her build confidence while showering her with the love she so happily gives in return. Lyla has so much love in her heart and is more than ready to share it with a forever family of her very own. Please visit www.KarlsCanineKrew.org to apply to adopt. We do not accept 3rd party applications ##2730734##

Story
Rosie is a three year old hound mix rescue. She is a loving baby who wants nothing more than to cuddle up with you and sleep the day away. She loves play, but doesn't understand the "bring toys back" part of fetch. She is a sweet girl, but is much too large and strong for us to manage anymore. She would love to be part of your family, but would do best as an only dog. She loves bones, flavored hard toys, and soft blankets to sleep on. However, she will cover eith sudden movements and loud voices due to her first owner.

Story
Nice to meet you, I’m Foxx! I’m a sweet and playful Plott Hound mix who’s always ready for my next adventure. If you grab the leash, I’m already excited!! Walks are one of my favorite things, and I’m proud to say I do a great job out there! I’ve got lots of energy and love to move, play, and explore—but I’ve also got a chill side too. I have great dog skills and love engaging in cute, bouncy, low-energy play with my dog friends. And when playtime is over? You can usually find me lounging on my bed like the couch potato I am. I’m a pretty smart guy—I know some basic commands already and I’m super eager to learn more. I’m very food motivated, so treats and toys are the way to my heart! I really enjoy engaging with both, and I’m always ready to work for a snack. When we first meet, I might seem a little aloof, but don’t be fooled—I’m actually a super sweet and affectionate boy. Once I warm up, my loving personality really shines. Plus, I’ve been told my big, shiny eyes are pretty hard to resist I get along well with other dogs and love having a buddy to play with, but I’d also be happy soaking up all the attention myself. I just really love being part of the fun—and part of a family. I haven’t had the easiest start in life, but I haven’t let that stop me. I’m still a happy, hopeful guy who believes my perfect family is out there waiting for me—and I can’t wait to meet them! If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who’s equal parts playful and couch potato, I just might be your guy! I am Heartworm Positive, which means I am available for foster-to-adopt while Animal Friends Alliance provides treatment. Don't worry, though, I've got a normal long life ahead of me, just need a few months of TLC and I'll be good to go! Before you ask, it's not contagious to other dogs, cats or people. Please call 970-484-8516 or email adopt@savinganimalstoday.org with questions! Our volunteers say: "Foxx is the best. He knows all the tricks and is such a sweet boy even though he has a big bark."

Story
Meet Otto Part hiking buddy, part cuddle monster, part tiny detective with a nose that misses absolutely nothing. Our best guess is Otto will grow into a handsome 50–70 lb adventure dog. Mom looked like a Plott Hound mix, dad looked like a Border Collie/Boxer mix, and Otto somehow got the best traits from everyone — smart, goofy, athletic, snuggly, and just chaotic enough to keep life interesting. Originally from Kansas, he’s settling into home life like a pro. Otto is crazy smart — he solved a food puzzle on day one that other foster dogs never figured out. He’s highly food motivated and already learning commands quickly. He can sit, shake, and roll over, and he’s always excited to learn new tricks for snacks. Crate training is going really well, and he’s become pretty comfortable relaxing in his crate. Potty training is also coming along nicely — he’s only had a couple accidents here and there and is making great progress. Personality-wise, Otto is equal parts rambunctious chaos gremlin and professional nap cuddler. When he’s ready to play, he’s cheeky, energetic, and full of zoomies. When he crashes, he wants to be curled up right next to his humans. He loves following people around like a very committed intern. Otto is socializing well with both humans and dogs, though he’s still very much a puppy and gets overexcited sometimes — expect enthusiastic jumping, puppy antics, and plenty of puppy bites while he learns boundaries. He absolutely lights up around kids, but because he’s still in his bitey puppy era, he’d do best with a family that understands normal puppy behavior. His current hobbies include: Investigating the yard like it’s a crime scene, Causing mild chaos, Getting the zoomies at full speed, Learning tricks for snacks, Passing out mid-adventure while cuddling you If you’re looking for a smart, hilarious, affectionate adventure buddy who will keep you laughing and keep your couch warm, Otto’s your guy. ##2720182##
