Meet Judy! Judy is a 3-month-old, 20+ lb beautiful puppy who we think is a Hound mix of some sort. She is curious, affectionate, eager to please, and absolutely full of enthusiasm for life! Judy was previously adopted, but her separation anxiety proved to be a bit more then they could handle. Therefore, a family who is mostly home and willing to work with her would be the best fit. (The rescue can recommend several trainers for help!) Judy is definitely a play hard, sleep hard kind of girl. When she’s awake, she’s ready to explore, sniff, investigate, and play with that puppy in the mirror. When she’s tired, she wants nothing more than to spoon up and snuggle. She loves belly rubs, getting her sniff on, toys, and relaxing on the balcony while watching the world go by. She responds wonderfully to treats, praise, positive reinforcement, and lots of love. She will need a patient family that can help show her she is safe and will do better if she has a dog buddy to help show her the ropes. With her curious nose, energy, and love for exploring, I have a feeling Judy is going to grow up to be a very kind and intelligent little lady. We also think she would be an amazing hiking and adventure buddy someday. But for now, she’s still just a baby learning how to be a puppy… and she’s doing such a good job. Meet Trudy! Say hello to Trudy, a beautiful 3-month-old Plott Hound mix with a personality just as gorgeous as her coloring! And yes… she absolutely has that famous hound howl! Trudy is an excitedly friendly little girl who is thrilled to meet everyone she encounters. Her enthusiasm sometimes gets the best of her, and she’s currently learning that greeting people doesn’t mean jumping right into their faces. With continued patience and training, she’ll be a wonderful little companion! She’s doing awesome with house training and is learning to use the doggy door like a pro. Trudy sleeps nicely in her kennel overnight, but she does prefer to be in the same room as her humans—she can get a little lonely when she’s separated from her people. Trudy has shown no resource guarding with her toys or treats, and she already sits nicely when treats are involved! She gets along well with other dogs and is curious about cats. She will need continued work on her puppy manners, especially learning not to jump on small children when she gets excited. Trudy is still just a young pup with so much to learn and so much love to give. She’s ready for a family who will continue guiding her, teaching her, and showing her just how wonderful life can be. I have great dog skills and love engaging in cute, bouncy, low-energy play with my dog friends. And when playtime is over? You can usually find me lounging on my bed like the couch potato I am.
