Story
Meet Issy! This sweet, sensitive gal just adores other dogs and would likely enjoy a playmate in her new home. Issy has been known to chase (and even catch) a squirrel or two, so HSBV is recommending she not go home with any resident cats. She loves to play fetch and go for long walks! Sometimes Issy doesn`t realize her size, so we`re suggesting she not go home with kids under 6 - but bring your family down to see if she`s a match for you!

Story
Beau is the kind of dog that wants to fully be part of your life. Morning walks, hikes, park trips, couch time, belly rubs—he’s happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing. Beau is a playful, affectionate young dog with a great balance of energy and cuddly companionship. He loves chasing sticks, exploring new smells, running around outside, and then curling up close to you on the couch at the end of the day. He absolutely loves attention and happily demands belly rubs whenever possible. Beau has been living successfully in an apartment and already has a solid daily routine. A typical day for him includes walks, some playtime or off-leash exercise, long naps in between activities, and relaxing with his people in the evening. He enjoys being outside and would likely love having a yard to explore and sniff around in. Beau is social, friendly, and enjoys meeting people. He does well with children and likes saying hello to everyone he meets. He is house-trained, knows how to sit for treats, and has experience being off leash with an e-collar. On leash, he still needs some continued work with pulling and can get excited by squirrels, rabbits, and sometimes other dogs on walks. Good fit: someone active enough to enjoy walks, adventures, and outdoor time, but who also wants an affectionate dog that enjoys cuddling and relaxing at home. Location: Colorado Health: Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped Medical notes: Sensitive stomach; currently does well on lamb-based kibble. Adoption fee: $175 Think you might be a good fit? Story
Meet Otto Part hiking buddy, part cuddle monster, part tiny detective with a nose that misses absolutely nothing. Our best guess is Otto will grow into a handsome 50–70 lb adventure dog. Mom looked like a Plott Hound mix, dad looked like a Border Collie/Boxer mix, and Otto somehow got the best traits from everyone — smart, goofy, athletic, snuggly, and just chaotic enough to keep life interesting. Originally from Kansas, he’s settling into home life like a pro. Otto is crazy smart — he solved a food puzzle on day one that other foster dogs never figured out. He’s highly food motivated and already learning commands like sit, lay down, high five, and roll over. Crate training is going very well, and while potty training isn’t 100% consistent yet, he’s picking it up quickly. Personality-wise, Otto is equal parts rambunctious chaos gremlin and professional nap cuddler. When he’s ready to play, he’s cheeky, energetic, and full of zoomies. When he crashes, he wants to be curled up right next to his humans. He loves following people around like a very committed intern. Otto is socializing well with both humans and dogs, though he’s still very much a puppy and gets overexcited sometimes — expect enthusiastic jumping, puppy antics, and plenty of puppy bites while he learns boundaries. He absolutely lights up around kids, but because he’s still in his bitey puppy era, he’d do best with a family that understands puppy behavior. His current hobbies include: • Investigating the yard like it’s a crime scene• Causing mild chaos• Getting the zoomies at full speed• Learning tricks for snacks• Passing out mid-adventure while cuddling you If you’re looking for a smart, hilarious, affectionate adventure buddy who will keep you laughing and keep your couch warm, Otto’s your guy. ##2720182##

Story
Simba is guessed to be a 2 yr old Plott Hound mix, who is goofy, and looking to learn about what a warm forever home feels like. He came to us from a hoarding case in Oklahoma where he was found with all of his brothers and sisters. Simba is a bit shy, but so far, all of his siblings who came to us before him have done wonderfully adjusting to life in safe and loving homes. Apply for this handsome boy today, and come meet him at our Wellington location!

Story
Meet Todd — or as his foster lovingly calls him, Big Head Todd And honestly? The name fits. Todd’s got a giant noggin, giant paws, and an equally giant personality to match. Our best guess is that this handsome goofball will grow into a 50–70 lb adventure buddy. Mom looked like a Plott Hound mix, dad looked like a Border Collie/Boxer mix, and Todd somehow inherited the best traits from everyone: smart, playful, cuddly, athletic, and just the right amount of lovable chaos. Originally from Kansas, Todd is settling into home life like a total pro. He’s equal parts fearless explorer and professional couch potato. One minute he’s zooming around the yard playing tug-of-war like it’s the Puppy Olympics, and the next he’s passed out snoring dramatically in the middle of the room like he just worked a double shift. Todd is curious, brave, and eager to learn. He’s making great progress with potty training and picks things up quickly — especially if treats or praise are involved. At night, he sleeps quietly in his crate for up to 7 hours and will politely let you know if he needs a potty break with a few tiny whines instead of full-blown puppy theatrics. His foster says Todd’s favorite routine is: Cause harmless chaos Get the zoomies Fall asleep directly on your feet Repeat forever. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who will make you laugh daily, keep life entertaining, and then snuggle up beside you like the world’s sweetest oversized baby, Big Head Todd is ready to move in and steal your heart. ##2720177##

Story
I have had my dog for about 9 years. He has been part of our family for a long time and is very loyal and protective of his home. He is older now and is used to a familiar environment and routine. Due to changes in our living situation, we are no longer able to provide the structure and environment he needs. He does best in a calm home where he can be the only pet, as he is not comfortable around other dogs. He is very affectionate and enjoys being around his people, but he needs an experienced owner who understands dog behavior and can give him clear boundaries and a stable routine. I am hoping to find a safe placement or organization that can better meet his needs and ensure he is in the right environment for his personality.
