Story
Meet Suki — a laid-back, independent girl with a calm spirit and just the right touch of playful charm. This precious girl was rescued in Northern Mississippi by one of our southern rescue partners and spent the first part of her life in a shelter. When the ice storm that recently impacted the South hit, it became her lucky break — a foster stepped up to bring her home, and she settled into family life like she’d always known it.Suki is dog-friendly with pups of all sizes, cat-friendly, potty trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. She’s crate trained (just needs a little help going in), rarely barks unless she spots something outside, and has been really good about not jumping, even when she’s excited. She’s a champion napper who can entertain herself with ease, loves playing with cats indoors and running with dogs outside, but truly enjoys her own space — usually choosing a cozy dog bed over the couch, with a short daily cuddle beside her people. Her only quirks? She might sneak a shoe if one is left out and once tested a baseboard, but she responds well to correction and continues to learn. Overall, Suki is an easygoing, low-maintenance companion who brings a peaceful, happy presence wherever she goes. Now all she needs is a forever family to call her own. Suki is more than ready to trade shelter life for a home filled with love, cozy beds, and a place where she can keep being her sweet, gentle self for years to come.Name: SukiBreed: Plott Hound/BoxerSex: FemaleAge: 1 year  (estimated)Weight: 60.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:   MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Gypsy is a joyful little girl who is just 12 weeks old (as of 2/2) and heading to New England from Mississippi—escaping the rough weather down south and ready to start her next chapter! This pup is truly eye-catching, with stunning brindle-and-white coloring and the most beautiful, expressive eyes. Gypsy first appeared as a stray in Batesville, but thanks to a kind Good Samaritan who took her off the road, she found her way into foster care—and she’s been thriving ever since.Gypsy is a classic happy, lively spitfire puppy. She’s curious, playful, and full of personality. She’s already working on crate training, and while her foster mom (who is almost 80!) will be the first to say she’s “doing her best—LOL,” Gypsy is making great progress for such a young pup.She absolutely loves other dogs and has even been doing well playing with cats, too. Gypsy would do best in a home ready for all the fun, structure, and patience that comes with raising a puppy.Gypsy arrives in Massachusetts on 2/7 and will be ready to head into her forever home shortly after.Puppy Expectations:Gypsy is still very much a baby. Like all puppies, she will need time, consistency, and positive training to continue learning house manners, crate skills, and basic obedience. Puppies require supervision, routine, and plenty of patience—and adopters should be prepared for chewing, accidents, and lots of energy as she grows. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and absolutely adorable puppy to grow up with, Gypsy may be the one for you.Name: GypsyBreed: Plott Hound/Labrador RetrieverSex: FemaleAge: 12 weeks as of 2/2Weight: 20 lbs at 12 weeks ( looking in the 75-80 lb range when full grown)Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the adopter's responsibility.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usually, but is crate trained.Microchipped: YesLocation of dog currently:   Massachusetts as of 2/7Puppy Adoption Fee:  $600.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicableATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
This cutie is Twice. She is currently 3 months old. We think they may be a Plott Hound and Australian Shepherd mix, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that they are adorable and are one the MOST desperate in the entire US based on statistics for where this puppy is from. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another in its place. Watch Twice’s playful personality here: https://youtu.be/pE74vFKXeZw?si=UEPaTdc7NlcYUwg- Twice is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. She loves to play with her siblings and take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat- such is puppy life! We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing paperwork! Twice is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. A puppy is discovering new things that shape their personalities with each passing day. Implementing routine, structure, setting boundaries, and proper socialization is key from the start. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving at their new home, which will help with potty training, energy management, and the overall development of a well-rounded adult dog. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
