She's been overlooked for MONTHS, and it's time for Donna to finally have her happily ever after! Meet Donna, a gorgeous 10–11-month-old girl weighing 43 lbs. We suspect she may be a Plott Hound/Bull Terrier mix, although her exact breed is unknown. She's believed to be fully grown, which means she's the perfect medium-sized companion for someone looking for a little adventure, a lot of love, and plenty of laughs! But Donna's story is about more than her adorable personality. 💔 🏡 A PROMISE THAT FELL THROUGH Donna and her siblings were taken in by a kind facility when they were tiny babies because a rescue had promised to take them all. Unfortunately, that rescue never followed through on taking every puppy, leaving the facility to care for the little ones. One by one, Donna's siblings found homes. But Donna was left behind. She's now been at the sanctuary for approximately EIGHT MONTHS, watching other dogs get their chance while she continues to wait for someone to choose her. Our rescue has stepped in to help Donna find the family she's always deserved. ❤️ And trust us… this girl has SO much love and personality to offer! 😂 A LITTLE CRAZY, BUT THE BEST KIND OF CRAZY! Donna is a fun-loving, goofy girl who keeps life interesting! She's very food- and treat-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training. She wants to please her people, and she knows when she's been a little naughty. In fact, when Donna realizes she's done something she probably shouldn't have, she'll look at you, waiting for the mom look… and then WALK HERSELF OVER TO HER BED like she's putting herself in time-out! 🤣 PLEASE. When other dogs are playing, Donna likes to jump in and try to supervise the situation. The only problem? Stella is a little girl only 35lbs and around 18 months so she won’t get any bigger She has the best ears and likes to be a little goofy! Dumped in the deep woods by some lowlife with another little dog, she was very lucky to be found. She’s great with other dogs, loves people, and has been around older children, she doesn’t jump up, and has an energy level of about 7/10 with a bit of couch potato thrown in too. She’s also house trained.

ROMERO HAS BEEN WAITING SO LONG, HE’S STARTING TO THINK HIS INVITATION GOT LOST IN THE MAIL. Romero is a 1.5 year old Plott Hound mix that is ridiculously handsome, wildly social and, somehow, one of our longest residents. The strange thing is, Romero doesn’t act like a dog who has been overlooked. He still wakes up ready for whatever the day might bring. He wants walks, adventures, and important investigations of smells the rest of us clearly lack the qualifications to appreciate. He approaches life like there is probably something wonderful happening just around the corner. And he is especially convinced other dogs are wonderful. Romero loves his canine friends and would be thrilled to have a playful buddy at home. Someone to wrestle with, explore with and help conduct important household research into whether the sound of a cheese wrapper is detectable from three rooms away. But when playgroup ends, his friends eventually go back to their kennels. And Romero goes back to his. Again. That part hurts more now because Romero has watched so many dogs come after him and leave before him. Families walk through our doors. Applications come in. Happy adoption photos get taken. And somehow, our happy boy keeps getting passed by. He doesn’t know he’s one of our longest residents. He doesn’t know how many times we’ve wondered why nobody has chosen him yet. Meet Prancer, he’s a 2 year old plott hound/terrier mix with annoying absolute love of life and shows it by covering you with kisses and wiggle waggles. Prancer loves to run and chase balls ( he loves balls!!) as long as someone will throw them. He is a very sweet, outgoing and playful young dog with lots of energy. This girl has beautiful slick coat, absolutely striking muscular body build, the most amazing ears you have ever seen, perfect symmetry and gait, all this and a total love sponge! Daisy passed all of our training and socialization programs, projecting strong desire to bond, strong desire to train and an overall base of understanding that far surpasses her years. To this young ladies credit, she left a bad environment and chose to never look back, her strength of character is simply humbling! As the lead trainer for our rescue my job is to teach, build character and heal, through my months with daisy I can truthfully admit that she evolved to the point that I was becoming the student and she the teacher, an experience I will cherish for life!
