*Plotthound*1 yr 7mos old; 62lbs*Very friendly, welcoming, goofball! Ready to play, go and do and then place his head and those HUGE ears in your lap. Fun. Fun. And more fun!!  TIMOTHY is the funnest boy ever and did you `happen` to notice those enormous ears that just might catch air some day??  Ridiculous, right??  Our silly, goofy, most happy boy has not lost a step in settling in and is ready to go and do and make friends, pronto!!   A year and 1/2 old, Timothy`s book is wide open and he`s full of joy and life and love and plenty of play.  A bigger guy at 62lbs,  Timothy is graced with a wonderful disposition and attitude and he seems eager and welcome to adding other dogs to his friend circle.  If a shy, meek dog is what you desire in your next 4 legged friend,  Timothy is NOT the one for you!   Timothy is very full bodied in his personality and outlook on life.  What a hoot!!  We are all smitten with this happy faced boy and guaranteed, you`ll smile the minute you lay eyes on him.  Guaranteed!

Story
*Plott Hound*12 yrs old; 58lbs*Very friendly, nuzzly, soft in his ways. Polite, chill and ready to relax by your side. *Dog social. In a play group setting, Otis beautifully strolls around checking out everyone. *Superb foster report- housebroken, great with resident dog, ignores resident cat, super in the car, ok with stairs and hopping in car. Quickly settled in! Voted Best Attitude!  Voted Most Likely to Make You Smile!  Voted Best Mannered!   Gosh,  can our elderly statesman OTIS earn any more accolades??  At 12yrs of age,  it`s clear this handsome, chill, affectionate fell knows how to get the pet job done.   Otis is in great shape health wise and in good spirits.  You can count on a mighty smile, hearty tail wag and some light tip toeing/tap dancing as you approach his kennel to take him out for an easy paced walk.  Otis is comfortable going and doing but perhaps is at his best when he stretches out and opts to relax and chill right near you.  Like most dogs,  Otis loves, loves having his back scratched at the base of his tail and happily rewards you with some extra hip wiggles and his 1/2 shut eyes of contentment showing his level of satisfaction with your work.  Otis is so delightful, kissy, nuzzly and soft in his ways and has so much to offer his new family.  Check out our brindle dressed friend and be prepared to load him up and head home.Facebook Update April 28: OTIS- OLDEST DOG ON THE ADOPTION FLOOR AT 12!!Who can help???  Otis just went into foster and he`s perfect!!  Perfect, folks!  Great in the home, in the car, with the resident dog, ignores the resident cat and settled in super fast.  60lbs of good lovin` here!Who can help??Some detail from his foster:  +He is such a sweet 12-year-old boy. He loves being around people, cuddling, affection, treats, pup cups, walks, and riding in the car. He is also really good for baths. Otis is house broken and lets me know when he needs to go outside to use the bathroom.+He has plenty of energy when he is around other dogs and does really well meeting them and being around them. He is playful but still very easygoing. He seems to be good with cats too; he was curious but did not bother the cat.  Fine hopping in and out of the car + doing stairs. +Otis is the perfect mix of being ready to go whenever but also being content just hanging out and relaxing. He also knows how to sit, lay down, and shake.

Story
Meet Dandy Dandy is a gorgeous Plott Hound mix. She was rescued from a high kill shelter. This beauty is incredible! Dandy is two years old. She is super sweet, affectionate, friendly and outgoing. She's absolutely gorgeous with long legs and a long, lean body. Dandy loves our shelter staff and volunteers. She is so happy to see them, and she calmly sits for scratches and gentle pets. Dandy travels well in a car and likes going places. Dandy is energetic and would do well with an active family or person. She loves walks/hikes, likes to run in a fenced yard, she might even enjoy dog parks or doggie daycare. She loves other dogs and plays very well. She can be submissive if she’s feeling overwhelmed by other dogs. Dandy does great with kids and likes cats. Dandy is sensitive and very smart. She is a gentle soul. Dandy had so many advocates trying to get her to safety and we can see why. She is amazing. It’s so hard to understand how a perfect dog like Dandy finds herself homeless, but the family or person who adopt her will be getting a gem. Dandy is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. If interested in Dandy, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. Story
Meet Boone Boone is an absolutely stunning young dog. We rescued him from a high kill shelter. We think Boone is a Plott hound mix, possibly Tennesee Treeing Hound based on his overall looks and ears. He came in to us as an older puppy and sadly, he is still with us after over five years. Boone is almost 6 years old and is 57 lbs of muscle and heart. Since arriving Boone has been a gentleman dog. He’s really friendly. He’s energetic, but it’s not frenetic activity. Boone is polite and rather calm, especially considering how long he has been confined to a shelter. He walks great on a leash, and loves being out of his kennel to enjoy the companionship of his person. Boone will make for a great hiker. This breed is known for its stamina, endurance and agility. They can be all business and focused when working or engaged in training, but when at home they are mellow and enjoy the downtime. Boone is definitely a staff favorite and our hearts are broken that he has been with us so long. Boone is smart and alert. He will do best in an active home where he is physically and mentally occupied. He seems to like other dogs and but is not a fan of cats. Boone hopes to get his chance to go home, and he is going to make for a wonderful companion and will be loyal to his people. If you are looking for a fun, sweet and active boy, not to mention incredibly handsome, Boone may be the one for you. If interested in Boone, please submit an application on the homepage of this website www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to verify that we received your application. . Story
Meet Musket Mike! A 10-year-old male Plott Hound with a wise heart, a gentle soul, and plenty of old-school charm. Musket Mike is a calm, easygoing senior who has settled nicely into the slower pace of life. He’s the kind of dog who’s happiest with a soft bed, a steady routine, and a kind human nearby. Around other dogs, he’s tolerant and polite he doesn’t seek out playtime or interaction, but he coexists peacefully and minds his own business like a true gentleman. At his age, Musket Mike isn’t looking for big adventures or busy households. He’s more about quiet companionship, leisurely strolls, and soaking up affection at his own pace. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, you’ll see just how sweet and loyal he truly is. This old boy has earned his rest, and now he’s hoping for a soft landing where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort and love. If you’re looking for a gentle, low-key companion who asks for very little but offers a lot of quiet presence in return, Musket Mike is ready to retire into the good life he deserves. Come meet Musket Mike at Anderson County PAWS. We`re open 12-5 pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat)
