Story
***In order to alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society's physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***Wilco is a 5-year-old Plott Hound who we've owned since she was a puppy. She is spayed, house and crate trained, and has been in extensive obedience training and LOVES to practice her skills. She's about 70 lbs. (large for her breed). She does not have any dietary restrictions other than being a little picky (she likes some stock on her dry dog food) and her health has been top notch her whole life. She currently takes Prozac to help with her anxiety, which she's had since we moved to Chicago in 2021. Wilco is good around other dogs and hasn't spent much time around cats. She is nervous around small children, which is why we need to rehome her - she's been very cagey and a little growly around our baby, and we think she'd do better in a house without small children (under 5). She's totally fine with older kids and humans. She gets 60 minutes of exercise a day, loves pets but not to cuddle, and won't try to sleep on your bed (she prefers her crate). Please reach out to jrsweeney530@gmail.com for more information.

I'm up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. I'm currently being fostered in the Chicago south suburbs and I hope to meet you soon!

Story
Hi! I am Carly, people tell me I am smart and beautiful! I make my foster parents smile because I am so cute in how I talk when I am asking for something. I have taught them all my languages for my needs! I can sit and wait patiently to be petted, I know to lay down and stay on command. I love to give my toys to people when I play. I live with other dogs, and am ok with most dogs, but can't play too hard. I am housebroken and crate trained, however it makes me a bit worried when I am left alone, so my perfect home should have someone who works part time,or has a hybrid schedule. I would be safer in a 6 foot fence but they may consider other options, as I do love to take long walks. Being an investigative hound, I could not be expected to stay in an unfenced yard! Older kids would be best. DOB 10/21/19 60 PoundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Say hello to Loki! This sweet boy was recently returned to us after his former family unfortunately did not have enough time for him. Loki is a major sweetheart who is ready to play play play! He is a bit shy around new people but is easy to warm up with snacks and a ready-to-play attitude. He would do best in a home with no young kids. He loves to snuggle on blankets and spend time outside. Loki is eager to learn and is currently working on his leash training. He knows how to shake hands and sit! Loki enjoys playing with other pups but does best when fed separately. He would thrive in an active home with a yard for him to run and play games in! Please help him find the home he deserves!Loki is: *Extremely loyal and lovable with people * Very energetic and active, loves playtime! *Good with other dogs and doggy-siblings *A Star pupil in our WWR Dog Training Program *Very good on a walk and has amazing leash manners! Some of Loki's cutest traits are how he knows to give both paws and his enthusiasm for showing off his training for treats or toys! ---------------------------------------------------------THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFE!Volunteers and staff are excited to assist you in the adoption process!
