Story
I rescued Cobalt from a shelter who said he was 11 months old in spring 2021. He had some training when I got him, basically house trained but did mess the floor in transition and probably would again. I was hoping he would hunt for me but have found out that I'm not a dog lover. Issues have escalated and he will be at a shelter very soon if nobody takes him. He is a giant lap dog and loves his pets, scratches and snuggles way more than I like giving them. He demands attention but if you like giving it to him that probably won't be an issue. He'd love a larger property that we don't have, he's a digger so a fence alone would not confine him if he gets bored. He doesn't do well with other dogs, in particular little dogs and probably shouldn't be around small children. He's fine with older kids or teenagers. He comes with all his stuff as I won't be getting another dog.

Story
Dave is a senior dog (born 2016) who is looking for a quiet home with a fenced in yard.   He would prefer to live with a woman and needs a little time to warm up to men and all visitors.   Dave LOVES to be outside in the yard and then is content to come inside and nap.  He doesn't like being around other dogs, but would be content living with a cat in the house.   HIs demeanor is calm but protective and he will definitely let you know what's on his mind.  Dave does know some commands, is housebroken and crate trained.  He would prefer to be in a house rather than an apartment. Dave's beloved human recently passed away so he is needing a place to live where he will once again feel loved and safe. His current housemate is Tozer, a senior cat.  They are not bonded, but get along great.  If you are looking for an older duo, this might be the pair for you.  Please consider adopting ASAP as they need a new place! The suggested adoption donation for Dave is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2668101##
