Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. Meet Remy, a beautiful little lady who is not only a vision with her gorgeous brindle coloring, but she's also got a personality that will melt your heart. Remy is incredibly attentive to her handler and loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for a sweet cuddle session, complete with puppy kisses. She has an open and friendly nature and is going to make a wonderful best friend. However, she does exhibit some hand shyness as if she were hit, so a loving family that could help build her confidence and make her feel safe would be just perfect. She's an "all in" player when it comes to toys and wants to jump up for attention, she would thrive in a home that can provide structure and basic manners training. Remy already knows her "sit" command and is eager to learn more. Her soft, full-body wags are a testament to her sweet nature and her desire to please. She's ready to give all her love and attention in return for a safe and nurturing home where any children are at least 8 years old. Remy would love it if you came to meet her. Meet Harvey! This heck of a handsome plott hound mix is two years old and 61 pounds of brindled beauty! Harvey is a guy who is all about the love! He makes it no secret that his happy place is being with his people. He already knows how to sit and takes his treats very gently. When it comes to toys, he's appreciates every kind there is. He enjoys the company of his fellow kennel mates and could make and excellent pal for your family fur baby. He's an easy-going guy who is a joy to hang with. Harvey went on an outing with some of our awesome volunteers and as you can see by the pictures, he had a great time. He looked cute as can be in his pumpkin outfit and enjoyed hitting the trail for some fun. He hopped right in the car and was ready to roll! He was good on leash and did well with passing people, pups and bikes. He even enjoyed exploring the water. He was very well-behaved when they stopped off at the store and finished the day off with an pup cup which he devoured. He's ready to join you on all of your adventures! He’ll bounce and twirl every now and then because walking in a straight line is apparently overrated. 😂-This energetic boy had a blast running and spinning around the yard! He chased toys for a bit but wasn’t quite sure what to do with them afterward.-He’s very treat motivated and knows “sit,” although sometimes he needs a minute to get there. He’ll try jumping up for snacks but is happy to listen and get back into a sit.-When playtime is over, he’s all about climbing into your lap for pets and snuggles. He gives kisses, too!-A happy, affectionate boy with plenty of puppy fun to share!-Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy.
