Story
Good With Kids: Tolerant of kids ages 4-8, prefers older kids Good With Other Dogs: Yes. Plays rough. Good With Cats: No Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Working on it Knows Basic Commands: Yes Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Moderate Special Needs: **See Below Physical Fence: Preferred. Follows her Plott Hound nose. Favorite Toy / Activity: Walks for sniffs, snuggling and hard chew toys. Arrival story: Came to Waggin’ Tails from Detroit Animal Control in July 2022. Adopted but home just not the right fit. Approximate age / Weight: 2-3 yrs old / 38 lbs. Personality: Our petite southern belle is a sweet, shy-at-first, affectionate girl. Your lap will be her comfy haven at night when its time to relax and you will not be able to resist rubbing her silky long, ears. Walks with Savvy are an interactive experience. She follows that hound nose of hers, walking fast then hard stop to the next thing scent that captures her attention. As a scent hound, this girl would love humans in her life that provide some opportunity to exercise her innate sense-abilities with treks to new places for sniffs, backyard games, etc. Savannah is treat-motivated and would love to learn new things. As much of a busy-body that Savvy is out in the yard and on walks she is a gentler soul in the home and when guests come over. She warms up quickly, though. She’s a smart cookie and was quick to house and crate train, is good at the vet’s office, has good house manners, knows basic cues, easily redirects when baying (that hound dog awrroooo) and comes when called. Savannah is very responsive to praise and positive reinforcement and would thrive on routine with some added scent-work surprises in her life. ** Savannah is missing most of the fur on her left flank, likely from some type of scalding or burn. While not painful now and healed nicely, sunblock is necessary for the pink areas of the skin if she’ll be outdoors for a period of time. Forever Home: Savannah would thrive with a family/person who likes to go for walks and explore. She'd enjoy a chance to engage with dog friends or have a sibling who likes to play hard. She equally likes humans and dogs and while she has met children, she removes herself from interacting with small kids with their unpredictable hugs and squeezes. A physical fence is preferred for Savannah to help satisfy her serious sniffing instincts safely but a situation where she'd get plenty of walks would work, too. Contact: Please contact wtdr@waggintailsdogrescue.org with any questions or submit adoption application via our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoption-application. Story
Hello My name is whiskey ,also known as Willow. I am roughly 3 years old My story starts being left behind when my owners moved. I was tied to a stake and looking very rough and skinny. The rescue took me in, and I have excelled ever since. I am crate trained and housebroke. I live with all size dogs on a farm with my foster family. I love being outside and laying in the sun. I walk good on a leash but may want to chase a squirrel if I see one. I was used for hunting before being left behind. So, no cats in the house please! I really am a gentle soul , that could be just fine being a coach potato or playing in the yard with your company. I am spayed, micro chipped , up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative. My adoption fee covers a health certificate and transport from Tennessee.

Story
Look at sweet Amity peeking through the bars, just hoping for some pets! She is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs 33 pounds. She will have much cuter pictures coming soon. This sweet girl wants nothing more than to be close to you, Amity seems to crave love. She is affectionate and attentive to you, oh how she wants a family to love her forever. Amity is super shy and submissive right now though, it takes her a little more time to trust. She is looking for guidance and security from you. Amity needs an adopter who has the time and patience up front to work on trust and confidence building. She is very treat motivated, so that will be a great tool to use to build trust. She may prefer a quieter home and any children need to be at least 13 years old, due to her shy nature. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Amity would love to meet them. She is a little apprehensive at first, but interested and open with other dogs. We do recommend a more chill dog friend for her. If you are interested in Amity and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
**Chase is in a foster home and not at the kennel** Hi my name is Chase. My friends also call me Ace. I’m some kind of Sheperd/Plott Hound with maybe some Doberman in there too. I’m 1.5 years old and weigh about 66 Lbs. I’m extremely intelligent! I know many commands: sit, down, stay, drop it, take it, come, wait, stay, and leave it. I am an active boy and would love a fenced yard to expend my extra energy. I would love to go for walks around the neighborhood with you. I seem to really enjoy meeting new people. I do let out a bark or two at first. I guess I want you to know that I am here. Give me a treat and we can move passed all those formal hellos in no time. I’ll be strutting my stuff and showing you how wonderful I am lickety split! I am known to give you a quick lick once we know each other. That is how you will know we will be best friends! I love to chase after tennis balls. I’ll even play all by myself. I’m up for an adventure if you are. I’ll get pretty excited but will settle down in the car. I will sleep on my dog bed all night. I really just enjoy being with my people. I will take treats nicely when I’m rewarded for doing something right but do prefer to keep my food bowl to myself. The joy of an entire bowl to myself is overwhelming and I try to scarf it down as fast as possible. Give it to me piece by piece and I’m much more relaxed. I love love love other dogs and they seem to give me a sense of stability. Another confident doggie playmate would be awesome! I also get along just fine with cats. I am looking for a home with some dog experience in which everyone is over 13 years old and older. I’m a lot of dog and need a bigger person to understand my puppy playful antics. If you are interested in adopting me and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and his foster dad will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! I hope to meet you soon! ~Chase/Ace *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.*
