You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hiya! I'm sneaking on the SWAT page hoping to find a new family. I'm Roxie, and Ryder is my brother. Here's our story, so far. Ryder never has much to say but he'll get a turn. We are twins, about 8 weeks old. Right now, I weigh 14 pounds so I'm probably going to be a big girl when I grow up. SWAT is calling us Plott Hounds because of our beautiful tiger brindle coats. Now, for the rest of the story. We were home with our mom in Locust Grove. When we were barely 2 months old, Mr. Ickyman, tossed us in a pickup and dumped us out on the road. We missed mom but can't really say we'll miss the rest of the "family." Anyway, there we sat, not knowing what was going to happen next. We had itchy bugs on us and we were getting pretty hungry without mom there to feed us. The next day, another car stopped. A woman got out so we ran over to her. She scooped us up and took us to her house. The new family (SWAT calls them Fantastic Fosters) gave us a bath, shots (not fun) got rid of the wigglers inside us. We feel SO much better. We have two little humans to play with. They gave us our names. We have other BIG dogs that may, or may not, like us pestering them all the time. AND, get this, we get fed until our bellies are full. Life is good SWAT was quick to let us know we weren't home, home. There is a place called Forever that we'll be going to, we just need to find it. I don't have a lot to tell you that Roxie hasn't already blabbed, just that she's a girl, and I'm a boy. She talks a lot. I am a baby too, smaller than her. I weighed 12 pounds when I got here. We like it here, a LOT, but we would like to find our Forever. SWAT told me to tell you that we were to young to go to the vet yet, but when we find our homes, and are a little older, they will take care of all that "vetting stuff." I'm not sure what that means but they said it would help us be our family's BEST DOG EVER. That's what we want! I guess that's all I got since Ms Blabbermouth got to the computer first. Introducing Ember! She was saved from a shelter and was spayed and vetted yesterday. She has gone to a foster home with other dogs, kids, and cats and so far she is doing great with all of them! We estimate her age as somewhere in the 1-2 year range. So far she is just a bit timid but that is to be expected. We have no idea about her previous history before becoming a Helpless Hound, but we can't wait to watch her blossom. Ember is a sweet and smart pup who loves chasing her toys and playing fetch. Her playful nature and great spirit make her a joy to be around. Ember is also incredibly loving and forms great bonds with those who spend time with her. Initially shy, Duke is slowly emerging from his shell, showing notable progress in leash training and has mastered the command to sit and has been crate trained. He relishes an energetic game of fetch and is always quick to beat his brother to the ball. Known for their intelligence, loyalty, and abundant energy, Plott Hound mixes flourish with human interaction and fit well into an active household. They may approach strangers with caution, but they form strong bonds with their owners. Due to their deep loyalty and affection, Plott Hounds make outstanding family companions.
