Story
This handsome hound is Baxter. He is an 18 month old male Hound mix who weighs around 45 lbs. He was rescued from a local shelter, emaciated and dehydrated. He has transformed into a healthy beautiful boy. Baxter loves to play. Needs a home with another playful dog around his size. Is good with dog savvy cats. Until he is used to the other dogs in the home he needs to be fed separately. He loves people and is great with kids (probably no toddlers due to his energy level). Requires a very secure stockade fence & a home visit. He is house-trained, only crated at night (he goes in on his own). He is making progress on leash-training and does better with a harness. Baxter is an affectionate boy who would love a home where he is included in activities and given plenty of love and attention. Baxter is neutered, current on vaccines, current on heartworm preventative and microchipped. His adoption fee is $225. To adopt Baxter, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application.

Monica loves being on the go and exploring the great outdoors with her human. She would like to be an only child and would do best at home with active adults who will take her everywhere they go and help her shed a few extra pounds she has gained in her time in boarding. She has been through an eight-week training program at Friends For Folks in Lexington, OK, and now knows all her basic commands.

**🐾 Seeking a Special Adopter or Foster for Kai 🐾** Everyone, meet **Kai** — a loyal, loving, and *very* smart boy who's looking for a patient and experienced home. 💛 We believe Kai is a **Malinois-Catahoula/Cattle Dog mix**, which means he’s incredibly intelligent, driven, and will thrive in the right environment. But he's not your typical "adopt and go" kind of pup — Kai needs time, patience, and understanding to warm up to new people and surroundings. He’s not one for busy adoption events (he gets nervous and barks/growls at strangers), so we’re hoping someone can see *past that tough exterior* and recognize the amazing companion he is. 🐶 **About Kai:** * Needs a few days to warm up to new people — trust is everything to him * Would do best in a home with fewer dogs (ideally one other older but playful dog) * *Not a fan of cats* but has tolerated mine without aggression * Curious about kids, but hasn’t had much exposure * Not crate trained, but housebroken and uses a dog door * Rough-and-tumble player, loves toys, chews, and gives gentle nips when excited * Very food motivated and learns fast — training would be a breeze for the right person! * LOVES the idea of being your ride-or-die truck dog 🛻❤️ We love him dearly, but we have too many dogs to give him the focus he truly needs. Kai would thrive with someone who *knows and appreciates working breeds* — someone who sees the loyalty and brilliance behind his shy, protective exterior.
