Story
Meet Grundy! He is a 5 year old plott hound. Grundy is special needs, he is blind, but does find his way around really well once he’s familiar with his space, and he has seizures. He is on medication for the seizures, and has done really well on them, however this is something he’ll need for the rest of his life. He’s a very sweet, snuggly boy, he’s also very goofy and energetic. He is crate trained and house trained. Due to his size and him not being able to see, our other dogs and cats do not get along with him. This isn’t fair to them or him, as he’s kept separate in the home from us and them. He is good with older kids who understand dogs(10+ years old). We’d love to find him a perfect fit. He would do best in a home where he has another dog who is tolerant and okay with being bumped into similar in size(60lbs).

Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children 16 years and older.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Peter – Our Sweet, Shy ExplorerPeter is a Plott hound mix with a curious nose, a gentle spirit, and a lot of puppy energy still to grow through. He may be shy at first, but give him a little time and he’ll show you the playful, affectionate pup hiding behind those soulful eyes.Who is Peter? Peter is an active, independent little guy who loves exploring the world around him. On walks, he can pull with excitement, but he relaxes once he gets into the rhythm. Indoors, he’s more focused—though still learning how to redirect his curiosity. With people, he can be a little hesitant at first, sometimes barking when meeting new faces, but he warms up quickly and enjoys gentle affection once he feels safe. Some of his favorite things include:- Exploring every new scent outdoors- Independent playtime with toys- Tasty treats—he’s very food motivated- Showing off his “sit” and “come” (especially when food is involved!)Because Peter is young and still learning, he sometimes has a hard time giving up toys or his food dish. But he responds well to a “trade” and has already shown he’s eager to learn with the right encouragement.Peter Would Do Best In a Home That Offers:- Kids around 16+ who understand a shy pup’s boundaries- A doggy friend could be a match (introductions on a case-by-case basis)- Patience, training, and positive reinforcement to help him gain confidence- Regular walks, playtime, and consistency to burn energy and build trustPeter may be a little unsure of new things, but he’s resilient, loving, and ready to bond with someone who believes in him. With guidance, this shy boy will grow into the loyal companion he’s meant to be.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Peter is an energetic young dog full of curiosity. He loved exploring the shelter grounds, but it`s challenging to redirect his focus. He pulled on the leash initially, relaxing as we walked. Inside, he improved, though he still struggled with redi

🐾 Foster or Adopter Needed for Mocha 🐾 Meet Mocha, a gentle boy whose owner sadly could no longer care for him. He is currently at the Cape May Animal Shelter and we are looking to get him his permenant home or foster home. He is already becoming a staff and volunteer favorite thanks to his calm and friendly personality. 🤎 Mocha is an old soul who simply enjoys being close to his people. He walks beautifully on a leash and stays calmly by your side. While he loves running in the yard and chasing toys, don’t expect him to bring them back—he prefers the fun of the chase! ✨ Amazing leash manners ✨ Loves pets and leans into his humans for affection ✨ Previously lived with a dog and a cat ✨ Crate trained ✨ Sweet, calm, and loving temperament Mocha would make a wonderful family companion and loyal best friend. 🏡 He urgently needs a foster or adopter. Please share to help Mocha find the loving home he deserves.

Buddy is 2 years old, plott hound mix, male, neutered, UTD and microchipped.  He has a great personality, loves being outside.  Buddy has lots of energy.  No small children as he can easily knock them over when exicted.  Buddy does not like car rides.  Meet and greet would take place in Easton at owner's home where  you could see Buddy's personality.  kennel license #18956 ##2742317##

Story
This puppy is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $250 if picked up in TN, $325 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. If loving people were an Olympic sport, Boone the six-month-old Redbone Coonhound mix would take home the gold every single time! This 40-pound bundle of red-coated enthusiasm is friendly, playful, and so genuinely thrilled to be near his people that he has been known to get so excited during a good petting session that he ends up underfoot on the leash walk. He means well, he just really loves you. Boone knows sit, is quiet and calm in his crate, crate trained when on a schedule and is currently working on his housetraining. He is a smart boy and with consistency he will get there. Squeaky toys are basically Boone's love language, and he is happiest when he has a good squeak toy in his mouth, a dog friend to play with, and a human nearby ready to deliver belly rubs on demand. He is good with other dogs and friendly with strangers, and would do best in a home without cats. Boone would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard where he can burn off that glorious puppy energy and then come inside for the snuggles he so deeply deserves. He is young, enthusiastic, healthy, and has an absolutely enormous amount of love to give. If you are ready for a joyful, affectionate, and squeaky-toy-obsessed hound boy to join your family, text AARF at 931-260-8018 or visit www.aarf-tn.com today!  Interested in adopting? Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative.
